Week 83: May 29 – June 4, 2023

Day 574: May 29, 2023

Monday – Rumoi

Rumoi High School 5.29.23

It's drizzling today, and in a way, it made me feel a bit down after the unfortunate events yesterday. However, I'm still grateful that those events occurred, as they will be addressed sooner. Anyway, I'm back at Rumoi High School today, marking the start of the work week.

I spent most of my time studying Japanese using the VLJ language course

It's exam week for the students, but the actual tests won't begin until tomorrow. Today, the classes focused on review sessions. Meanwhile, I dedicated my morning to studying Japanese using the VLJ language course, and I completed several lessons for Unit 9.

I only had one collaboration today. Here's my workload for today:

6th period – Exam Review @ 1-1 of Matsuda-sensei

My co-teachers had a meeting. I stayed in the faculty room and spent my time studying

Yellow Hat in Hanazonocho, Rumoi City

Ruru under repair

After work, I went to Yellow Hat in Hanazonocho, Rumoi City, to check on Ruru, which was being repaired after it broke down during our trip to Takinoue. 

Day 575: May 30, 2023

Tuesday – Rumoi

It's a cloudy morning, and I've returned to Rumoi High School for my usual Tuesday visits. Today marks the beginning of the students’ exams, which means there won't be any collaboration work for me.

To make the most of my day, I dedicated some time to studying Japanese using the VLJ language course. I completed several more lessons in Unit 9, furthering my progress.

I went to Asuka for our Rumoi English Conversation Club

After work, I headed to Asuka for my bimonthly Rumoi English Conversation Club. We had "Free Talk" today.

Day 576: May 31, 2023

Wednesday – Teshio

Teshio High School 5.31.23

It's a sunny day, the last day of May. I'm excited to be heading to Teshio High School for today's school visit. This marks my fourth visit for the School Year 2023-2024. To make the most of this trip, I'll be utilizing my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Teshio Town Hall

Teshio Shineidori 1-Chome Bus Stop

After work, instead of boarding the bus to Rumoi City at the Teshio High School Mae Bus Stop, I walk about a kilometer to the Teshio Shineidori 1-Chome Bus Stop. This gives me a chance to stretch my legs and enjoy a short walk before the 3-hour bus ride home.

Day 577: June 1, 2023

Thursday – Teshio

Teshio High School 6.1.23

It’s the first day of June, and it’s a beautiful sunny day. For today’s school visit, I’m off to Teshio High School. It’s my 5th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I’m using my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Day 578: June 2, 2023

Friday – Rumoi

Rumoi High School 6.2.23

It’s another Friday. However, instead of going to Tomamae Commercial High School, I’m reporting for work at Rumoi High School. As for my work today, I didn’t have any collaboration work. Instead, I studied Japanese and helped Matsuda-sensei check some papers and also helped Sengoku-sensei plan for our club next week.

After work, my family and I went to Yamanokaya Ramen for dinner. We ordered the special miso ramen.

Overall, I only visited Rumoi High School and Teshio High School this week, and I only had a handful of collab works because of the exams. In a way, I got to rest and prepare for a busier work week next week.
