My daughter ordered the recommended Miso ramen |
During my visit, I opted for the lamb ramen, a unique and flavorful choice. My daughter went for one of their bestsellers, the miso ramen, while our friend Mike couldn’t resist the Cheese Ramen. Each dish was distinct in taste, offering a culinary adventure with every bite.
A Fun Twist: The Oversized Ladle
One quirky feature of dining at Kamekin Shokudo is their oversized
spoons, reminiscent of ladles. They’re great for scooping up the flavorful
soup, but fitting it all in your mouth is another story—an amusing challenge
that adds to the dining experience.

What to Try Next
Curious about what to order next time, I asked the staff for
recommendations. They suggested the spicy soy sauce ramen paired with a side of
chahan (fried rice)—a combination I’m already looking forward to trying with my
family on our next visit.
Team Nicerio dines at Kamekin Shokudo
My daughter and I, with my friend Mike, visited Kamekin
Shokudo last June 18, 2023, during our Father and Daughter Road Trip #3. It was
my 594th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. This
restaurant was actually recommended to me by one of my students from Haboro
High School. He said that this was his father’s favorite. I got curious, and thankfully, we had the opportunity to try it. I’m happy we did as this place
turned out to be one of the best ramen restaurants that I have visited in
Hokkaido so far.
