Seasonal Charm and Tranquil Atmosphere
The Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair is a seasonal event, making it a
unique experience that can only be enjoyed in the spring. The park offers a
peaceful, natural setting perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and savoring the
fresh air.
The best time to visit is typically mid to late May when
the tulips are in full bloom. During this period, the park bursts with vibrant
colors, making it the ideal time for photography and sightseeing. However,
since the event is weather-dependent, it's always a good idea to check the
status of the blooms before planning your visit.

My family and I visited the Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair for the
first time on May 28, 2023, marking my 573rd day in Japan as an ALT with the JET Programme. The Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair was the highlight of our trip to Yubetsu and also
the final stop of our day. Upon arrival, we learned that it was the last day of
the event. With closing time approaching, we were lucky to receive free
admission. Although many of the tulips had already begun to wilt, there were
still plenty in full bloom. Despite this, we had an unforgettable experience
and are excited about the possibility of returning next year.
