Weekend 81: May 20 – 21, 2023
Day 565: May 20, 2023
Saturday – Rumoi
Today was a beautiful sunny day, but we decided to stay in Rumoi City because my wife had a dental appointment at Ebata Dental Clinic at 430 PM. We didn't want to go too far and risk being late for her appointment.

Despite staying at home for most of the day, we made the most of it by doing some household chores and taking some time to rest. After lunch, we went to Jabba Coin Laundry to have our blankets washed. It felt good to have fresh and clean blankets to snuggle into later on. From there, we headed back home to eat brunch before heading out again.
Special JSDF Event at Rumoi Port
Our next stop for the day was Rumoi Port to see the Japanese battleship Suou, which was open to the public for free. Unfortunately, it had been sent on a special mission and wasn't at the port. However, the organizers prepared some activities for those who came, such as a shooting range, free gachapon souvenirs, and a photo area where visitors could wear military clothes. We tried all of them and had a great time.

Saw these in COOP. I wanted to buy some but we don't know how to cook it. |
Afterward, we went to the Rumoi City Library to kill some time and then headed to Ebata Dental Clinic to make it in time for my wife's appointment. Before going home, we went to COOP to buy groceries for the week. Finally, we ended the day by binge-watching a few episodes of the Second Season of "Manifest". The storyline was addictive, and we can't wait to see how it ends. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable day spent in our hometown.Day 566: May 21, 2023
Sunday – Rainy Day in Rumoi
Today, I woke up with an urge to go on a road trip to Takinoue Park. I have been eagerly waiting for the shibazakura to be in full bloom. Unfortunately, the weather gods did not seem to be on my side as it was predicted to rain the whole day. Disappointed, my family and I decided to stay at home.

Rainy day in Rumoi City |
It was a lazy day, but it felt good to slow down and just relax. We decided to binge-watch one of our favorite shows, Manifest. Season 2 was getting intense, and we had just one episode left to watch before we called it a day.

Breakfast for today. |
 |
Ginataang bilo-bilo for snacks |
Although we didn't get to visit any new destinations or check out the blooming Sakura, it was nice to spend a day indoors. I enjoyed spending quality time with my family, without any distractions or rush. We laughed, talked, and made the most of our company. |
Our neighbor who is the official photographer for the event yesterday gave us copies of our photos from the event |
As I lie down to sleep, I feel grateful for this relaxing weekend. I guess sometimes, being still is just as essential as moving around. That's why I look forward to new experiences and travel plans, while also cherishing the slow moments with loved ones.
