Day 569: May 24, 2023
Wednesday – Teshio
 |
Teshio High School 5.24.23 |
Today was one of those days that reminded me how beautiful and
enriching life can be. It marked my third visit to Teshio High School this
academic year, and as always, it was a fulfilling experience. Thanks to my
2-day Moekko Free Ticket, I was able to navigate the city and its surroundings
freely, making the day even more enjoyable.
My Day at Work:
 |
Collaboration with Miyakoshi-sensei |
2nd Period: Interview Test with 2A (Miyakoshi-sensei)
3rd Period: Interview Test with 1A (Miyakoshi-sensei)
I wrapped up my work a little earlier than usual, but the
bus back to Rumoi City wasn’t scheduled to arrive for another hour. Instead of
waiting idly, I decided to use the extra time for a short adventure.
Afternoon Adventure:

Teshio Itsukushima Shrine's main torii gate |
 |
Teshio Itsukushima Shrine |
I started by revisiting Teshio Itsukushima Shrine. There’s
something so calming about the shrine—its peacefulness always leaves me feeling
refreshed. After spending some quiet moments there, I wandered toward the
Kawaguchi Ruins Scenic Forest.

The Ainu dwelling inside the forest |
 |
This is what it looks like inside the Ainu dwelling |
What a surprise it was! The forest features recreated Ainu
dwellings, offering a glimpse into the history and culture of the region. It’s
fascinating to think that, despite living just 12 minutes away from Teshio High
School, I had never visited this remarkable place before. Walking through the
forest, surrounded by history and nature, was truly a rewarding experience.
As my time in the forest ended, I made my way back to the
bus stop and arrived just in time to catch the Engan Bus. The timing couldn’t
have been better!
 |
It's our first time having a barbecue on our veranda |
 |
Looks delicious! I'm excited for dinner. |
Later that night, my family and I decided to barbecue on our
veranda—our first time ever! The experience was so much fun. There’s nothing
quite like enjoying good food and laughter with the people you love most.
