Hamamasu Furusato Park Details

Hamamasu Furusato Park offers a unique blend of natural beauty and meaningful symbolism. This park is home to the iconic Hamamasu Furusato Park Lover's Ocean Stone Monument, a stunning feature that captures the essence of love, luck, hope, and faith. Installed on August 10, 2007—commemorating Heart Day—the monument was made possible through a generous donation from a local stonemasonry business. Designed by students from Fuji Women's University, which has a campus in Ishikari City, the monument takes inspiration from hearts and four-leaf clovers, offering visitors a picturesque and romantic setting.

A standout feature of the monument is its heart-shaped arch, through which visitors can gaze out at the mesmerizing view of Cape Aikappu. The four-leaf clover design at the base of the monument is etched with the powerful words: "Love," "Luck," "Hope," and "Faith." Standing in the right spot—where your heart's desires are most vivid—you can make a wish and feel a sense of connection to these inspiring values.

Our visit to Hamamasu Furusato Park on May 14, 2023, was the final stop on our Mother’s Day trip and also marked a special milestone—my 559th day in Japan as an ALT with the JET Programme. We arrived in the afternoon, just in time to catch a beautiful sunset, which added to the park's already serene atmosphere.

Though Hamamasu Furusato Park offers only a few attractions, it truly excels in providing a relaxing and peaceful environment. My family and I spent the afternoon playing badminton, enjoying the simple joys that this quiet park had to offer. The calm and tranquil vibe of the park made it the perfect spot to unwind and create lasting memories together.
