Weekend 97: September 9 – 10, 2023

Day 677: September 9, 2023

Saturday – Asahikawa City

Off to Asahikawa City

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning. Today, we’re heading to Asahikawa City (旭川市). This trip was supposed to be last week, but it didn’t push through due to a lot of personal factors. Our main objective for this trip is to buy a baby seat for Kai. The minor objective is to shop for clothes in preparation for winter.

We got two prizes in one try

Our first stop was the 2nd Street Asahikawa Omachi Shop. Sadly, we weren’t able to find a baby seat that we liked, but my wife got great deals on the clothes. Ella and I, on the other hand, got two monkey keychains in one try on the UFO Catcher game.

From there, we drove to the 2nd Street Hanasaki Shop. It was way bigger than the first, and there were more good deals on clothes. The good news is that we were able to buy a baby seat that is easy to install, compatible with our car, and of course, affordable.

2nd Street Nagayama Kanjo Shop

Our 2nd Street hopping didn’t end there, though; we headed to another one, which was 2nd Street Nagayama Kanjo Shop, to check out what it has to offer. However, this branch was more of a fashion boutique as it sells mostly fashionable clothes and accessories. Regardless, we still have some very cheap good good-quality clothes there.

Aeon Mall Asahikawa West Store

It was around 4PM when we finished shopping, and that’s when the hunger set in. We drove to Aeon Mall Asahikawa West Store to look for a place to eat, as we couldn’t make up our minds about what we really liked to eat.

KitKat Yakubari Double

We ended up at Saizeriya, located inside the mall. We have eaten there a few times, so we already know what to order. Before going home, we bought some groceries. I was able to buy a new KitKat Flavor, which was the KitKat Yakubari Double featuring the original and matcha flavor rolled into one.

We got back home at around 8 PM. We just unloaded the stuff that we bought, took a quick bath, and called it a day.

Day 678: September 10, 2023

Sunday – Rumoi City

It’s another beautiful sunny day. However, unlike yesterday, we didn’t plan any road trips today because we are conserving our budget for our upcoming long weekend road trip next week.

Instead, we spent the day doing chores and bonding at home. I made sure to have plenty of time with Kai. My wife also made sushi, which we all enjoyed. 

9.10.2023 movie marathon

That afternoon, I binge-watched several episodes of the Netflix documentary SPY OPS. After which, we watched several films like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Avatar: The Way of Water. Both were great films, but the ending pretty much left us hanging. It only means we have to wait several more years again to see what happens in both films.

Overall, this weekend was a good mix of outdoor and indoor activities. We got enough rest for the upcoming work week ahead. See you next adventure!
