Day 679: September 11, 2023
Monday – Rumoi

It’s the start of my 98th week here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. Today, the weather is great as it is sunny but not humid. As for my work, I’m heading back to my usual Monday visit to school, which is Rumoi High School.

After classes, we had the Rumoi High School English Club. The club members spent the club time memorizing the script for the speech contest. I hope that they get to memorize it as soon as possible, as we only have 2 weeks left before the competition.
Day 680: September 12, 2023
Tuesday – Rumoi

It’s a rainy day today. Because of that, I wasn’t able to bike to Rumoi High School as I regularly do. Today’s rain was particularly strong, and the Engan Bus company called the school to inform us that bus trips north from Obira to Horonobe would be canceled at around 1 PM. Hence, the students living in that area were allowed to go home during the 4th period.

| Rumoi City Municipal Hospital |
During my lunch break, I accompanied my wife to Rumoi Municipal Hospital for Kai’s scheduled vaccination. He had 4 shots and one oral med for this hospital trip. It was heartbreaking to see him cry every time he was injected, knowing that we couldn’t do anything to ease the pain. Thankfully, everything went well.

I had to walk back to work as Kai needed to stay in the hospital for 30 minutes. At work, I trained Kanon for the speech competition.
Day 681: September 13, 2023
Wednesday – Haboro

According to the weather forecast, it’s going to be a cloudy Wednesday with chances of rain. Thankfully, it’s not going to rain hard like it did yesterday. For today’s business trip, I’m heading to Haboro High School. It’s my 8th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I’m using my 2-Day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.

Day 682: September 14, 2023
Thursday – Embetsu

It’s another cloudy day with a high chance of rain. Today, I’m heading to Embetsu Agricultural High School. It’s my 13th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I used my 1-Day Moekko Free Ticket.
We were supposed to have a park golf today, but sadly, the rain fell, and the event was canceled.

After the 6th period, we gathered in the gym for the farewell program for Mr. Fujimura. He will be moving to Tokyo.
Day 683: September 15, 2023
Friday – Tomamae

It’s a sunny Friday. For today’s visit school schedule, I’m heading to Tomamae Commercial High School. It’s my 15th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I used my 2-day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.
When I got to school, I learned that the other ALT won’t be reporting for work, so it’s just Matsushita-sensei and me today.

Overall, it’s another productive week. I visited Rumoi High School, Haboro High School, Embetsu Agricultural High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School. I’m happy to share that tomorrow is a big day, as it is the start of our 3-day road trip. Where will we go? That would be for another article.
