Koshimizu (小清水町) is a laid-back town located in the Okhotsk Subprefecture of Hokkaido, Japan. It is renowned for its dairy products and potatoes. The town's name is believed to have originated from the Ainu word Pon-yampet, meaning "small Yambetsu River" or "cold river." When a station was established in the area in 1891 (Meiji 24), it was named "Koshimizu" as a literal translation of the Ainu name.
