What a beautiful Saturday morning it is! It’s another sunny day, and what’s special is that it is a momentous day for all of us at Rumoi High School, as we come together to celebrate the much-awaited Rumoi High School Festival 2023.

As I stepped onto the school grounds, a vibrant atmosphere enveloped me. Each class and club has been assigned a room, or rather a "booth," to transform into a captivating spectacle. The creativity and dedication put into their decorations are truly awe-inspiring. From colorful streamers to mesmerizing artwork, every booth has its unique theme and engaging games that are worth checking out.Rumoi High School Festival Moments
This year, there's a delightful change from the previous festival. We have welcomed family members and outsiders to explore the festival grounds and witness the magic within our school. I couldn't pass up the chance to invite my dear daughter, Ella, to join in the festivities. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as we entered the school together, hand in hand. |

The festival was scheduled from 9 AM to 1:30 PM, and it was a whirlwind of joyful moments. Ella, bursting with energy and curiosity, ventured off on her own to explore the various booths. She mingled with my students, creating new bonds and sharing laughter. It warmed my heart to see her having such a fantastic time.

When the clock struck 5 PM, it was time to bid farewell to the festivities and head home. Since I won’t be able to cook dinner, I just bought Ella dinner from
Seicomart. Matsuda-sensei kindly picked me up from home at around 6:15 PM. We drove to
Tsukasa, also known as
Gourmet Sake House Tsukasa, for our
1st-year batch nomikai. The evening was filled with laughter, reminiscing about the highlights of the festival and savoring the delectable culinary delights.
Finally, I arrived home at around 10 PM, feeling a mixture of exhaustion and fulfillment. It had been a long and eventful day, but the memories created during the Rumoi High School Festival will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I prepare to rest my weary body, I can't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to share such a delightful experience with my beloved daughter and colleagues.Day 615: July 9, 2023
Sunday – Rumoi x Rest day
A beautiful day greeted us with calm and possibilities. My daughter and I woke at 8 AM, thinking of a road trip, but chose to stay home and rest. With my wife and Kai still in the hospital, it felt wrong to enjoy ourselves while she recovers from childbirth.
To make the most of our day, my daughter and I dedicated the morning to household chores. We worked together, tidying up our living space and completing the tasks that awaited us. Once we finished, we decided to head to the Rumoi City Library for some quality time. While there, I managed to write a few articles for my blog, pouring my thoughts onto the digital pages. Meanwhile, Ella immersed herself in the world of books, delving into captivating stories and fascinating tales. |

After our time at the library, we made a stop at COOP to purchase groceries for the upcoming week. It's always satisfying to stock up on fresh ingredients, knowing that we'll be able to prepare nourishing meals for ourselves and our loved ones.

| Movie night: The Healing (2012) |
As the day neared its end, my daughter and I settled down to enjoy a movie night together. We watched the 2012 Filipino horror film, "The Healing," and then immersed ourselves in the chilling atmosphere of the new season of "Black Mirror." It was an evening filled with gripping suspense and shared emotions.Looking back, it was a productive weekend, filled with both responsibilities and moments of relaxation. As a bonus, since I reported for work this Saturday, tomorrow has been granted as a free day for both teachers and students of Rumoi High School.
