Day 609: July 3, 2023

Monday – Rumoi

Rumoi City
It's a cloudy Monday morning

It’s the start of another week. It’s a cloudy day, and it’s like any other day. However, I just want to share that I woke up with an overwhelming sense of gratitude today I spent several minutes praying just to thank God. In a way, my JET Programme stint made me closer to and more thankful to God.

For today’s work, I’m heading back to Rumoi High School. Here’s my workload today:

4th period – Performance Task Discussion @ 1-56 of Matsuda-sensei
5th and 6th period – Interview Training with Matsuda-sensei

After classes, I helped the members of the Rumoi High School English Club make cards for the upcoming school festival. We stayed in school until 6 PM. It was a tiring yet fun activity.

Tuesday – Rumoi

It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning. The sun is up, so that means that I can finally hang the laundry outside to dry. For my work, I’m back reporting at Rumoi High School.

Here’s my workload for today:

5th and 6th period – Interview Training with Matsuda-sensei

KitKat Ice Cream 

After classes, I again helped the members of the English Club again in finishing their tasks in preparation for the upcoming school festival. After work, I walked to COOP to buy groceries. Aside from what we needed I home, I was also able to buy the new KitKat Ice Cream flavor for my collection.


Day 611: July 5, 2023

Wednesday – Haboro

It’s a warm sunny day. I’m off to Haboro High School for my 4th visit this school year, 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I used my 2-day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.

Here’s my workload for today:

What made this day super special was the birth of my son Leonne Hokkaido “Kai” G. Nicerio. Kai was born at 4:56 PM today in Osaka. I thank God that my wife and son are both safe and healthy. I also thank my godfather, Mr. Toshi, and his family for taking care of my wife. Finally, after 10 years of praying and trying, we have Kai. Thank you, Lord.

Thursday – Embetsu

It’s a rainy day today. I’m off to Embetsu Agricultural High School for my 10th visit for School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I would be using my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.

3rd period – Passive Voice @ 3rd year of Sasaki-sensei


When I got home, my daughter and I watched all the remaining episodes of Slam Dunk Season 3. Hopefully, we get to watch every episode until the 8th season.

Friday – Tomamae

It’s a cloudy morning, but according to the weather forecast, it will be sunny at noon. For today’s work, I’ll be traveling to Tomamae Commercial High School. It’s my 9th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I would be using my 2-day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.

I didn’t have any workload for today, as the teachers and students of the school will be having the 2023 Park Golf Tournament. In the morning, we played golf at the Kotanbetsu Riverside Golf Course. After that, we drove to the Hashiba Industry building and had a jingisukan party. It was a very memorable day.


Overall, it was a fulfilling week as I accomplished a lot. Aside from that, my son was also born this week, making it super special. To sum it up, I visited Rumoi High School, Haboro High School, Embetsu Agricultural High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School this week. I’m looking forward to tomorrow as it’s the Rumoi School Festival.
