Saturday – Rumoi

The weekend has finally arrived, and I’m feeling so grateful for the chance to take a breather. We decided to spend the whole morning relaxing at home—a well-deserved break for all of us. Of course, my daughter and I couldn’t resist diving back into "Sweet Tooth". What started as a casual watch turned into a full-on binge session as we powered through the remaining episodes of the second season. The season finale was brilliantly done, and now I’m on edge, eagerly anticipating how they’ll unfold the post-Last Men era in the next chapter.

This is an interesting book. 

In the afternoon, we headed out to Ebata Dental Clinic for my wife's dental appointment. On the way, we passed by Crepe Shop Yummy!! and decided to check out what they have to offer. We ended up trying the banana crepe and the Usagi no Ucchan Crepe, both of which were heavenly!

After my wife's dental appointment, we decided to go on a stroll and check out Miharashi Park in spring. It was a beautiful sight to behold. On the way home, we stopped by COOP to buy some groceries but unfortunately, there were no eggs available due to bird flu.

That night, we decided to hit the bed early as we were all tired from the walking we did. Looking forward to what tomorrow brings!

We overslept today and only woke up at around 10 AM. We quickly ate brunch and went off to the Coin Laundry Colorful Rumoi Minamicho Branch at Minamimachi to dry our clothes. Luckily, we only needed the dryer and were able to leave after half an hour.

After dropping off our clothes at home, we headed to the Rumoi City Library, which has become our family hangout place. We stayed there for hours, surrounded by endless books and stories. I, on the other hand, had other things in my mind. I browsed the internet for tips on how to pass the practical driving test in Japan. It's happening on Tuesday, and I'm feeling stressed about it as so much is at stake. However, I decided to put my faith in God and hope for the best.

Back home, to end the day on a relaxing note, I started watching a drama series called "Manifest" on Netflix. I was hooked and ended up finishing four episodes in one sitting!

Although we didn't travel to a different city or town this Golden Week, being with my family made everything worthwhile. Here's to hoping for more adventures next time.

What I love about food businesses in Japan is that they are always trying to one-up each other. This leads to products that are either very eye-catching, artistic, and sometimes downright unique. The same goes for quality, servings, and taste. When all these seems tied or it's hard to really distinguish which is the best, they resort to annual national competitions. To which the winner gets recognition for his work and better sales for the year (and sometimes beyond). Shoboji and Gifu Daibutsu - Gifu

Located in 8 Daibutsu-cho Gifu City in Gifu Prefecture, Shoboji ( 正法寺 )  is known as the temple which houses one of the three largest Daibutsu or Great Buddha statues in Japan . Shoboji   ( 正法寺 ) Shoboji and Gifu Daibutsu History Officially named Kinpouzan Shobouji (Temple) and also called Shohoji , Shoboji was first established in 1638. It joined the Obaku school in 1692. The last time I visited Daraga Church was during the 4th day of our CamSur - Albay Road Trip last 2014. Since that's almost a decade ago, I made sure to include it in our itinerary for the 8th day of our 2021 Bicol Road Trip .  Daraga Church Revisited 2021 Daraga Church details For those who are unfamiliar with Daraga Church , it is located in Santa Maria Street, Daraga in the province of Albay.
