Sunday – Rumoi x Sakura Blossoms

As April ends and May begins, we're thankful for the surprise of sunny weather instead of rain. Excited to make the most of it, we headed out early with hopes of a productive weekend.

Our first destination was MaxValu and DCM, where we bought groceries and household cleaning supplies in preparation for our planned cleaning day.

After that, we drove to Kamuiwa Park to check out the sakura blossoms, which were in full bloom. We spent several hours exploring the park and admiring the beauty of the flowers. I was able to try the cameras on my new iPhone.

From there, we headed to Rumoi City Library and stayed there until its closing time.

Before heading back home, we made a brief stop at COOP to buy other grocery items that we weren't able to find in MaxValu earlier. It was during this time that I met Hasegawa-sensei, my former JTE from Tomamae Commercial High School. The reunion filled our hearts with joy as we reminisced about our shared memories and caught up on life's journey.

When we got home, the sun was still up, so Ella and I embarked on our father-and-daughter biking exploration of our neighborhood. 

Overall, it was a fun Sunday. I was able to test the cameras of my new iPhone, and it was amazing. This made me excited for our future road trips as a family.

Located in Santa Maria Street in the municipality of Daraga in the province of Albay, Daraga Church is the crowning glory of religious architecture in Albay. What I love about food businesses in Japan is that they are always trying to one-up each other. This leads to products that are either very eye-catching, artistic, and sometimes downright unique. The same goes for quality, servings, and taste. When all these seems tied or it's hard to really distinguish which is the best, they resort to annual national competitions. To which the winner gets recognition for his work and better sales for the year (and sometimes beyond). Shoboji and Gifu Daibutsu - Gifu

Located in 8 Daibutsu-cho Gifu City in Gifu Prefecture, Shoboji ( 正法寺 )  is known as the temple which houses one of the three largest Daibutsu or Great Buddha statues in Japan . Shoboji   ( 正法寺 ) Shoboji and Gifu Daibutsu History Officially named Kinpouzan Shobouji (Temple) and also called Shohoji , Shoboji was first established in 1638. It joined the Obaku school in 1692. The last time I visited Daraga Church was during the 4th day of our CamSur - Albay Road Trip last 2014. Since that's almost a decade ago, I made sure to include it in our itinerary for the 8th day of our 2021 Bicol Road Trip .  Daraga Church Revisited 2021 Daraga Church details For those who are unfamiliar with Daraga Church , it is located in Santa Maria Street, Daraga in the province of Albay. Located halfway to the peak of the eastern slope of Mayon Volcano and in the jurisdiction of Tabaco City in the province of Albay is the Mayon Skyline View Deck also known as the  Mayon Rest House . Located along the Pan-Philippine Highway, a few kilometers outside the town proper of Atimonan in the province of Quezon, the Sirena is a mermaid statue that is probably one of the most famous landmarks of the province.
