It’s a beautiful Saturday morning. Instead of our usual family routine or a weekend road trip, I had to report to Rumoi High School, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

All the living former principals of Rumoi High School are in one place.

I feel fortunate to be part of this milestone. While the students were present, there were no regular classes. Instead, we gathered for a special program in the gym at 11:30.

After work, my wife and I drove to Tsuruha to buy some supplies. We didn't stay up late, though, as we plan to go on a "Shopping Road Trip" tomorrow to Takikawa City and Asahikawa City.

Sunday – Takikawa x Asahikawa "2nd Street Hopping"

Off to another road trip, but this one is more of a "Shopping Road Trip" in Takikawa and Asahikawa

Today was another beautiful day here in Rumoi City. The sun was shining brightly as my family and I embarked on a unique road trip to central Hokkaido, specifically to Takikawa City and Asahikawa City. This time, our main objective was not to explore these cities but rather to indulge in a day filled with shopping.

Our journey began around 10 AM when we left the comfort of our home in Rumoi City. Our first destination was Second Street in Takikawa City. We spent a considerable amount of time browsing through the racks and shelves, finding some incredible preloved clothing items perfect for the upcoming winter season. Additionally, I managed to snag some high-quality hiking gear, which was an exciting find.

After our successful shopping spree in Takikawa City, we continued our journey to Asahikawa. At first, we planned to visit several Second Street branches around the city, but since we had already splurged in Takikawa, we decided instead to head to AEON Asahikawa West Store. The mall offered a wide range of shops and choices that perfectly suited our needs.

My first task upon arriving in Asahikawa City was to find a hairstylist, as I desperately needed a trim. Luckily, I stumbled upon Quick Cut BB, offering an affordable haircut for only 1700 yen, a significant contrast to the prices I'm used to paying in Rumoi City. Although the process was quick and lacked the typical shampoo and shaving treatment, I left the salon feeling content with my fresh new haircut.

Following my grooming session, my family and I roamed the mall in search of a shoe store that offered high-quality hiking boots. While we found some well-known brands, I ultimately chose a pair from the department store, as they offered similar quality at a fraction of the expensive brand's price.

As lunchtime approached, we made our way to the bustling food court. My daughter and I satisfied our cravings with a delicious burger from McDonald's, while my wife opted for a satisfying rice bowl meal from Sukiya. We enjoyed our late lunch, replenishing our energy for the remainder of the day.

We explored the mall a bit before finally deciding to go home.

Finally, after a fruitful day of shopping and exploration, we arrived back home in Rumoi City around 8 PM. Once we unpacked our newly acquired treasures, we decided to unwind by watching the latest horror film, "The Boogeyman." The movie kept us on the edge of our seats and provided a thrilling end to our adventure-filled day.

Overall, today was a successful and fulfilling journey, filled with amazing finds, tasty food, and enjoyable moments with my family. I am grateful for these simple pleasures and look forward to our next adventure.
