Monday – Rumoi

Rumoi High School 10.23.25
Today is a windy day here in Rumoi City. It’s also the start of another work week, which means I’m back to Rumoi High School for work.
Here’s my workload for today:

Class with Matsuda-sensei

We played this interesting activity in one of his classes
2nd period – Everyday Technology @ 1-34 of Matsuda-sensei
6th period – Everyday Technology @ 3-345 of Matsuda-sensei
My wife and I started watching the series Keep Breathing on Netflix. We got hooked on the first two episodes. In my opinion, the acting and storyline are good.
Day 722: October 24, 2023

Inside Ebata Dental Clinic
It was a bright, sunny Tuesday, perfect for tackling a long list of important tasks. I decided to take a day off and use my paid leave to help my wife with everything we had planned. Our morning started at 10 AM with a dental appointment at Ebata Dental Clinic. Taking care of our teeth might seem small, but it feels good to start the day by checking off something important.

Rumoi Industrial Hall
From there, we headed to Rumoi City Hall to learn about the Rumoi City Lifestyle Gift Certificate. With their guidance, we stopped by JP Post for the necessary stamps and submitted our application at the Rumoi Industrial Hall. It felt satisfying to see everything moving smoothly.

COOP

These Japanese amberjacks are only 200+ yen! It's a good catch!

Inside Heartful
Next up was a quick stop at COOP for groceries, followed by a visit to Heartful to complete paperwork for my wife’s maternity benefits. Little errands like these can be draining, but having my wife by my side made the day feel lighter. Before heading home for lunch and picking up Ella from school, we made a quick stop at the Suzuki dealership in Motokawacho to reserve a winter tire change. Lunch was a simple but convenient bento from Seicomart, which gave us just enough time to recharge before the afternoon.

Rumoi Municipal Hospital
Ella arrived home just as we did, and we had a short window to eat and get ready for the next part of the day. First was Kai’s vaccination at Rumoi Municipal Hospital at 2 PM. Thankfully, it went smoothly, and I felt relief wash over me.

Ella is getting her eyes checked
Later, we visited Zenimaru Ophthalmology Clinic for Ella’s eye check-up. She was found to be nearsighted in one eye, and the doctor recommended a follow-up in six months. It was a little concerning, but I reminded myself that knowing early is better than worrying later.

Team Nicerio visits Cafe Kuri
Our day was supposed to end there, but Ella had a special request: a visit to Café Kuri for a parfait. How could we say no? The creamy sweetness of the parfait made the long, busy day feel lighter and more joyful.
Day 723: October 25, 2023
Wednesday – Haboro

Day 724: October 26, 2023
Thursday – Embetsu
![]() |
Embetsu Agricultural High School 10.26.23
It would have been a nearly perfect day had it not been for the hundreds of yukimushi (雪虫) or snow bugs flying around. It made it a challenge for me to walk to work because I had to protect my eyes. Regardless, I was able to reach Embetsu Agricultural High School without a bug entering my eye, nose, mouth, or ear, but I looked like I came out of a blizzard. Sadly, I wasn’t able to take a photo of it as I was in a hurry.

I'm surprised to see some yuki mushi or snow bug this early
This visit to Embetsu Agricultural High School is my 18th for the 2023-2024 School Year. For this trip, I used my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.
Here’s my workload for today:

After work, I went to the Suzuki dealership in Motokawacho in Rumoi City to have my summer tires replaced by winter tires. I paid 2640 yen for it. After that, I went to COOP to buy some snacks for our next movie nights.
Overall, I visited Rumoi High School, Haboro High School, Embetsu Agricultural High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School this week.
