Horoshin Spa details

Horoshin Spa was discovered by the chief priest of Eitokuji in 1928, who believed it was a sacred Kannon water. After a water quality analysis test was conducted in 1963, it was confirmed that the water was effective for neuralgia, rheumatism, and diabetes. Since then, it has evolved into a famous hot spring destination.

At the Horoshin Spa, you can soak in the simple sulfur cold spring water that has a faint scent of sulfur. Not only it warms your body and revitalizes your skin, but it also offers a beautiful and serene view of the Shokan mountain range and the Horoni Tachibetsu River. Soaking in the open-air bath while enjoying the breath of nature on your bare skin is an experience that you won't forget.

Team Nicerio at Horoshin Spa

My family and I first visited Horoshin Spa on September 9, 2022, as part of our September 9-11 Road Trip. It was my 312th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. As part of our trip, we tried the onsen of Horoshin Spa to freshen up after pitching our tent and before calling it a day at the Sato Auto Campground of Firefly.
