Sibling Road Trip # 3

Today couldn't have been more perfect for a road trip. The sun was shining brightly, and the weather was just right. I'm grateful that I had the foresight to apply for nenkyu or paid leave last week, allowing me to have this much-needed break today and tomorrow.

For our road trip adventure, I decided to take my siblings on a journey to Asahikawa City (旭川市). The anticipation was high as we embarked on this exciting exploration. Our first stop was at Tanbo Art 2023, where we were mesmerized by the beautiful artistry displayed across the rice fields. It was a truly unique and enchanting experience.

Meet the pig-nosed turtle of the clinic, so cute!

Next, we visited the Nakane Dermatology Clinic. Although it might seem like an unusual place to visit during a road trip, my sibling had a dermatological appointment that we had to fit into our schedule. Fortunately, everything went smoothly, and we could continue our adventure without any hitch.

One of the highlights of the day was our visit to the Asahiyama Zoo. The chance to see various fascinating animals up close brought out the child in all of us. We spent ample time marveling at the playful penguins, majestic polar bears, and other incredible creatures.

Our journey continued to Pulp Town, which is a second-hand shop. My siblings were able to buy several things to bring home and add to their collections. We also bought Mom a bag as a gift here.

For lunch, we indulged in a delicious meal at Katsuya, savoring the local flavors of Asahikawa City. The food was delightful, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The day was filled with excitement and discoveries, and as the sun began to set, we headed back home. It was around 7 PM when we finally arrived, feeling a bit tired from our journey. After a quick wash-up, we decided to call it a night, reflecting on the wonderful memories we made throughout the day.

Today's road trip to Asahikawa City was a delightful escape from our daily routines. The experiences we shared brought us closer as a family, and I'm grateful for these moments of joy and adventure.
