Last time, we started our kanji journey by learning the characters for numbers—simple yet essential symbols that form the foundation of written Japanese. Today, we’re taking the next step by exploring 10 basic kanji that are commonly used in everyday life. These characters will help you recognize simple words and build your confidence in reading and writing Japanese.

Located in A. Luna Street, corner Timbol Street the town of Concepcion in the province of Tarlac, Aquino Ancestral House is an old Pre-war mansion owned by the (highly political) Aquino clan.  Aquino Ancestral House Aquino Ancestral House History The Aquino clan, as most of us know, is a political clan known for producing generations of politicians. The most famous (and last occupant of the house) is Benigno Aquino Jr. also called Ninoy by most. He is the senator turned martyr during the Marcos regime. His wife would then become the 11th President of the Philippines after his assassination and the subsequent  EDSA People Power Revolution that toppled Marcos from his seat of power. Patungan Beach - Cavite

Located in Barangay Sta. Mercedes (Patungan) in Maragondon , Cavite, Patungan Beach is one of the province's little-known beach destinations. It is situated inside Patungang Cove which is south of Mt. Palay Palay which is also known as Pico de Loro . Patungan Beach Patungan Beach Details The area near Patungan Beach is home to about 100 - 200 families, most of which are fishermen hence the alternate name of the barangay - Patungan Fishing Village . According to the locals that I interviewed, their place was once an isolated  barangay , reachable only by boat, horse, or foot. Thankfully, with the completion of the  Nasugbu - Ternate Highway  and  Kaybiang Tunnel , the barangay was finally connected to the province. Eiraku Yumenomori Park - Osaka

Eiraku Yumenomori Park   ( 永楽ゆめの森公園 )  is a newly built park that has become quite popular with the locals living nearby. It is l ocated at 65-10 Daimyo Noda in the town of Kumatori in Osaka Prefecture, Japan . Eiraku Yumenomori Park Eiraku Yumenomori Park History Also called Yongkura Yume no Mori Park , Eiraku Yumenomori Park opened in November 2015. Since that time, it has been a weekend bonding destination for locals especially those with children. The park has a total area of 5 hectares, most of which is hilly and forested. One can explore this part of the park, by following the hiking course around it. Day 16  June 1 , 2018 Gifu - Nagano Road Trip Day 2 A pleasant morning to you my dear reader, today is the second day of our Gifu -Nagano Trip. It is also our 16th day in the  Land of the Rising Sun . Early morning Onsen dip at Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan Today, we plan to explore Takayama City in the morning and then Kamikochi in the afternoon. However, before everything else, I made sure to wake up very early to take one final dip at Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan 's onsen because I know that I won't have a chance to do it later as we'd only eat our complimentary breakfast before finally checking out of our ryokan.  Strictly NO TATTOOs! Shimogamo Shrine  ( 下鴨神社 ) is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kyoto. It is l ocated at 59 Shimogamo Izumigawa-cho, Sakyu ward, Kyoto City in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan . Shimogamo Shrine Shimogamo History Formally called Kamo-mioya-jinja , Shimogamo Shrine is one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan. The shrine is traditionally linked to a sister shrine called Kamigamo Shrine and the two are referred to as the Kamo-jinja . However, Shimogamo Shrine is the oldest of the two and is believed to have been built sometime in the 6th century before Heian-kyo (Kyoto City) became the capital of Japan .
