For those seeking outdoor adventures, Oniushi Park and Aobagaoka Park are the highlights of the area. Oniushi Park, located right next to the roadside station, is renowned for its cherry blossoms in spring. It's a perfect spot to experience the beauty of Hokkaido's natural scenery. Just a five-minute walk away, Aobagaoka Park hosts the annual Morimachi Cherry Blossom Festival every May 3rd, where visitors can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and view a one-of-a-kind cherry tree.

On April 2, 2023, during the second day of our three-day Birthday Road Trip, my family and I visited Roadside Station You-Yu-Mori. This visit marked my 517th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. This roadside station is the only destination that we visited in the town of Mori this day as it was already getting late and we still have several destinations to visit in our itinerary. As part of our Hokkaido 179 travel goals, we aim to visit all the roadside stations of the prefecture. What I like about this roadside station is that it has a free observatory that has an amazing view of Oniushi Park and Mount Komagatake. Hopefully, we get to revisit this roadside station in spring during the Sakura season as the park behind it is popularly known for that.
