My family and I visited Nakatombetsu Roadside Station for the first time during the last day of our 5-day Drive Up North road trip last August 16, 2022. This was my 288th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. We came because my daughter and I were collecting roadside station stamps for the Hokkaido Roadside Station Stamp Rally. However, it was a rainy day when we visited. Aside from that, we also arrived very early so we had no choice but to wait for the roadside station to open.

What I like about Nakatombetsu Roadside Station is its ambiance. It reminds me of a cabin in the woods. Given a chance, I would pitch a tent and stay for the night. Overall, Nakatonbetsu Roadside Station remains to be one of the most-beautiful roadside stations for me.
