Speaking of which, the roadside station has a reputation of being one of the cleanest roadside stations in Hokkaido according to the reviews given to it in Google Maps.

Team Nicerio visits Hamatombetsu Roadside Station

The new face of Swatton

My family and I visited Hamatombetsu Shrine for the first time during the 4th day of our 5-day "Drive Up North" Road Trip last August 15, 2022. This was my 287th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. I included Hamatombetsu Roadside Station in our itinerary as my daughter and I collect roadside station stamps for the Hokkaido Roadside Station Stamp Rally. We let Ella enjoy her stay by allowing her to play in the Kid’s Space because we were on the road for several hours. She had a great time and wished she could remain longer. Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short to drive to our next destination to pitch our tent and camp for the night.
