Day 488: March 4, 2023
Saturday – Rumoi x Mashike
We woke up early today so that we could prepare for our dental appointment at Ebata Dental Clinic in Rumoi City. Although our appointment was still at 10 AM and the dental clinic was also in the city, we still left home at around 9 AM so that we would have plenty of time to move around in case something came up.

Ebata Dental Clinic |

The dental clinic has a play area/ mini library for kids |
 |
It also has cute decorations |
The dentist, Ebata-sensei, was a very friendly guy. He can speak some English which made the dental visit a walk in the park. My daughter had some cleaning while my wife and I had some teeth fillings.

Driving to Mashike via Route 231 also known as the Ororon Line |
From there, we headed back home to eat lunch and rest. We headed out once again at around 1 PM. We were thinking of going to Rumoi City Library again but for a change, I suggested that we drive to the nearby town of Mashike (増毛町) to check out their community center which also doubles as a museum and a library.
I`m happy that my family agreed as we were greeted by a very scenic drive down to Mashike. We went straight to Mashike Town Comprehensive Exchange Promotion Facility Motojinya which is commonly called Motojinya.Team Nicerio visits Motojinya
My daughter and I happily explored the museum of Motojinya while my wife stayed in the library area. There was a part of the museum where guests could wear Japanese samurai armor. We also learned a lot about the history of Mashike because of the historical artifacts and information boards in the museum.
 |
I updated my blog a bit before heading back home |
We stayed in Motojinya until its closing time. I wanted to treat my family to dinner but my wife begged off as we have another trip tomorrow. Instead, she told me to cook her favorite steak dish. Of course, I obliged.

Time to head back to Rumoi City |
 |
Grocery shopping at COOP |
From Mashike, we drove back to Rumoi City and had a quick grocery stop at COOP to buy meat for my dish. To cut the long story short, I`m happy to share that my family enjoyed the dish and everyone was happy. |
We binge-watched the anime series - Erased |
Before calling it a day, we watched several episodes of the Japanese mystery drama Erased on Netflix. We wanted to finish all the remaining episodes because we have another travel tomorrow, but we weren't able to, so we decided to just continue it on another day.
Overall, it was a very productive day for us. We are finally worry-free with our oral health and we also got to resume our road trips as the roads are now mostly clear from snow. I’m looking forward to the upcoming weekends and where they will bring us.Read more:
