Day 462: February 6, 2023
Monday – Rumoi

It’s a beautiful Monday morning. Today, I’m back at Rumoi High School for work. Since the 3rd year classes that I usually work with are already finished for this school year, I have plenty of time to study Japanese. As a matter of fact, I started the Intermediate Course of the Visual Learning Japanese (VLJ) online course.

English Club – Valentine’s Day

After work, I headed to Moda Club Serufu to fill up my kerosene (灯油, touyu) containers as it kept on getting colder by the day.
Day 463: February 7, 2023
Tuesday – Rumoi

It’s snowing again early today but the weather forecast said that it would mostly be cloudy the whole day. For work, I'm back at Rumoi High School.

3rd period – Relative Pronoun Jeopardy @ 1-45 of Motoyama-sensei
After work, I attended the Rumoi English Chat Club. We had a free discussion.

When I got home, my daughter was super happy to show me the certificate that she got for winning the Kanji Contest in her school. To celebrate, my wife cooked a super delicious sweet and sour fish for dinner.
Day 464: February 8, 2023
Wednesday – Obira

I’m heading to Obira Special Needs High School today. It’s my 3rd visit for the school year 2022 – 2023. For this trip, I used cash to pay for my fare. Before heading to school I passed by Onishika Itsukushima Shrine to pay respects. Since it was winter time, most of the shrine grounds were buried in snow. For me, this added an extra beauty to the place.

3rd period – Valentine’s Day @ 3rd year of Saito-sensei
4th period – Valentine’s Day @ 1st year of Takahashi-sensei
That evening, the Rumoi JHS ALT, Kiaya came to visit us and have dinner with us. We had fun playing UNO and also talking about idioms. We drove her back home a little around 11 PM.
Day 465: February 9, 2023
Thursday – Teshio
It’s a cold morning. Today, I’m heading to Teshio High School for the first day of my 2-day visit. It’s my 13th visit for the school year 2022 – 2023. For this trip, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Day 466: February 10, 2023
Friday – Teshio

Today is the 2nd day of my back-to-back visit to Teshio High School. It’s my 14th visit for the school year 2022-2023. For this trip, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Overall, it was another productive week. I visited Rumoi High School, Obira Special Needs High School, and Teshio High School this week. I’m looking forward to the weekend as I have a road trip with the Tomamae ALTs and our JTE Hasegawa-sensei.
