Walking to work |
It’s officially my first day at work this 2023. I’m back reporting at Rumoi High School. In a way, I missed the snow of Rumoi but not the coldness.
There were still no students today which means that I don’t have any team teaching work. Regardless, I spent my time making PowerPoint presentations for my Teshio visit on Wednesday and also for Matsuda-sensei’s class this week.
Here’s my workload for today:
Here`s my workload for today:
3rd period: Listening and Speaking drill @ 2A of Ueki-sensei
5th period: Book Review & Presentation @ 1A of Miyakoshi-sensei
6th period: Book Review & Presentation @ 1A of Miyakoshi-sensei
The conference started around 8:45 AM. It was a conference attended by ALTs and JTEs from different schools in Hokkaido. For the Rumoi Block, it was only me and Matsuda-sensei who attended as the other ALTs already participated in the 1st session held last January 13th.
The conference was very informative but it focused not on skill development but on answering questions about team teaching and ALT life. Regardless, I learned a lot from it and found it helpful for 1st and 2nd year ALTs.
After the conference, I had a team teaching work with Kowaka-sensei.
Here`s my workload for today:
5th period – Intro to SDGs @ 1-45 of Kowaka-sensei
2nd period – Hamburger Shop @ Elective of Hasegawa-sensei
3rd period – Crossword Puzzle Activity @ 2nd year of Hasegawa-sensei
Overall, it’s back to work week for me. This week, I visited Rumoi High School, Teshio High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School. In a way, I miss the warmth of the Kansai Region, but then again, Hokkaido is paradise regardless of its super cold climate. I’m looking forward to what this weekend will offer.
