Iwade (岩出市) is a city in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. Iwade City was founded as a village on April 1, 1889, and became a city on April 1, 2006. The city is known as a flower-producing area. The most popular flower cultivated here is the carnation, sold all around the Kansai Area. The kanji used for its name iwa (岩) means rock and de (出) means out.
