Pokemon Center Kyoto Revisited 2023 - Kyoto
The first time that I visited the Pokemon Center Kyoto (ポケモンセンターキョウト) was on December 22, 2019, which was the 4th day of our 2019 Japan trip. My family and I revisited it last January 9, 2023, which is my 434th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme.

During my first visit to Pokemon Center Kyoto, I was with my siblings while my wife and daughter stayed behind in our accommodation. This visit, my wife and daughter finally tagged along which made my revisit even more memorable. For those who missed my first article about Pokemon Center Kyoto, here’s a summary of what I wrote about…
Pokemon Center Kyoto Details
Pokemon Center Kyoto opened in 2017, originally located on the 5th floor of Takashimaya Department Store Kyoto before relocating to its current location in March 2019.

Pokemon Center Kyoto - Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture |
During our initial visit, Pokemon Center Kyoto featured exclusive Pikachu merchandise themed around Maiko and Okuge-sama Pikachu. Unfortunately, these items were already sold out when we arrived, so we opted for the Wedding Pikachu series instead. Among them, we purchased the Wedding Kimono Pikachu (female) to add to Ella’s collection, having previously bought the Garden Bride Pikachu at Pokemon Center Osaka.
Inside Pokemon Center Kyoto
In addition to these exclusives, the enter showcased new merchandise such as plushies and toys from Generation IX Pokemon. Although tempted to purchase more plushies, we were concerned about fitting them into our luggage, especially since we already had two Pikachu plushies with us.

Overall, not much has changed at the Pokémon Center Kyoto since our visit in 2019. While there were new plushies and other Pokémon items, the store layout remained largely the same. Unfortunately, the store-exclusive Pikachu was sold out, so we couldn't get the Okuge-sama Pikachu. Still, the Wedding Kimono Pikachu makes a great addition to our collection.

After exploring all that Pokemon Center Kyoto had to offer, we decided to return to our hotel so that my pregnant wife could rest. Overall, revisiting Pokemon Center Kyoto with my family was a delightful experience. We look forward to visiting other Pokemon Centers across Japan; this marks our third visit to a Pokemon Center so far.
