One of the key objectives of the Wakkanai Youth Science Museum is to promote scientific curiosity and understanding among the youth of the region and to encourage them to pursue careers in science and technology. To this end, the museum provides various educational programs and workshops for children of all ages. These programs aim to enhance scientific knowledge and build critical thinking skills among young people, while also providing an opportunity for hands-on learning and experimentation.

I posted only a handful of photos of the exhibits and I purposely didn't label them so that you would only get a glimpse of what the Wakkanai Youth Science Museum has to offer. Please visit it and enjoy it with your own eyes.

Aside from that, the museum's focus on astronomy and space science is particularly unique. It houses a planetarium where visitors can observe constellations, planets, and other celestial bodies, and learn about the history of space exploration.

Team Nicerio visits Wakkanai Youth Science Museum

My family and I visited Wakkanai Youth Science Museum for the first time last August 13, 2022, my 41st weekend here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. It was one of the destinations we visited on the 2nd day of our 5-day Drive Up North Road Trip. During our visit, Ella and I enjoyed exploring and learning inside the museum. It was not crowded and there were a lot of things to see and do.

Overall, the Wakkanai Youth Science Museum has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists and has played an important role in promoting scientific education and innovation in the region.
