Japan Diaries 4: Day 167

Day 167: April 17, 2022

Sunday - Team Nicerio Explores Sapporo

We woke up at around 8AM for the buffet breakfast at Aspen which is the in-house buffet restaurant of Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen.

Enjoying our breakfast at Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen

Who wouldn't enjoy their stay at Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen

My wife sure did love the meal

The food was superb. I probably ate a kilo of sushi and maguro for breakfast. It was perfect to fuel us on our walking trip around Sapporo before we head back to Rumoi City in the afternoon.

Until next time, Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen

We went to Sapporo JR Station to keep our baggage in one of the lockers

Time to explore Sapporo City

We checked out of Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen at around 11AM and then immediately went to Sapporo JR Station where we left our luggage inside the rental lockers so that we can explore Sapporo City hands-free.

Team Nicerio visits Akarenga

Our next stop is Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza

We then visited the Sapporo Clock Tower

Enjoying the view of Odori Park and the Sapporo TV Tower

We visited most of the places that I visited yesterday like the Hokkaido Government Office / AkarengaSapporo Clock TowerOdori Park, and Sapporo TV Tower. However, unlike yesterday, we didn't go inside any of those places. We just took photos with them before heading on to the next destination.

Time to try Sapporo's subway line

Next stop: Sapporo Beer Museum

From Odori Park, we headed to the subway and bought the Donichika Ticket. We rode the Toho subway to Higashikuyakusho-mae Station and then walked to Sapporo Beer Museum

Inside Sapporo Beer Museum

Who knows, we might be the next model for this brand.

We explored the Sapporo Beer Museum for about an hour before heading to Sapporo Station by bus. There were a lot of interesting information and displays in the beer museum. We wanted to try out the famed jingisukan but decided to try it out next time as we discovered that we can only eat for a limited number of hours and Ella would need to pay the full amount as well.

From Sapporo Station, we boarded the Namboku Line to Odori Station then transferred to the Tozai Line to Oyachi Station.

Shopping at Super 2nd Street Oyachi

For our last destination for the day, we spent an hour and a half shopping at Super 2nd Street Oyachi. My wife bought a lot from this trip as the store is a second-hand shop that sells preloved items and most of which are still in very good condition but sold for less than half their original price.

Snacks at Mister Donut in Sapporo JR Station

Here's the Engan Bus bound for Rumoi City

From there, we rode the subway back to Sapporo JR Station and had snacks at Mister Donut while waiting for our 6PM Engan Bus back home.

Touchdown Rumoi!

We arrived at our house in Rumoi City at around 8:20PM officially wrapping up our first full day as a family here in Hokkaido Prefecture. See you on our next adventures!
