Weekend 24: April 16-17, 2022

Day 166: April 16, 2022

Saturday - Reuniting with my Family in Sapporo

Finally! After 6 months away from each other, I will finally be reunited with my family. I will pick them up at New Chitose Airport today. We would also spend the weekend in Sapporo City before going back home to Rumoi City.

I left Rumoi City via the 8:30AM Engan Bus from the Motokawacho bus stop going to the Sapporo Station bus terminal in Sapporo City.

Since my wife and daughter would arrive at around 5PM and I still have about more than 5 hours to wait for them. 


I took the opportunity to explore Sapporo Station and some nearby tourist spots like the following:

I ordered the famed Sapporo Spicy Miso Ramen

It was already lunchtime when I reached Sapporo Ramen Alley. I decided to eat lunch at one of the ramen restaurants in the famed alley. I chose the Teshikaga Ramen as it has a lot of positive reviews on Google Maps. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with all toppings which were highly recommended by those who left reviews on Google Maps and TripAdvisor.

From there, I headed back in the direction of Sapporo Station for the 3PM check-in at Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen, where we booked our overnight stay.

I arrived at New Chitose Airport. I'm very excited to see my family.

I freshened up a bit before heading back to Sapporo Station. I then rode the Rapid Airport train to New Chitose Airport. I still have a few hours left to wait when I arrived at the airport so I explored it a little. One of the places that I visited was the Pokemon Store New Chitose Airport. I bought the store-exclusive New Chitose Cabin Attendant (CA) Pikachu as a welcome gift to Ella when she arrived. 


By 4:30PM I was already at the arrival area waiting for my wife and daughter. It didn't take long for us to finally have our emotional family reunion.

We then headed back to our hotel in Sapporo City to rest a bit and drop off their luggage before heading out again for dinner.

The curry here is really fantastic!

Speaking of dinner, we ate at Curry Kitchen Onion where, you guessed it right, we ordered and ate curry. If you'd ask me I highly recommend the Katsu Curry.

Overall, today was probably my most memorable day so far since I got here in Hokkaido. I thank God for bringing my family to Hokkaido safely. 


Day 167: April 17, 2022

Sunday - Team Nicerio Explores Sapporo

We woke up at around 8AM for the buffet breakfast at Aspen which is the in-house buffet restaurant of Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen.

The food was superb. I probably ate a kilo of sushi and maguro for breakfast. It was perfect to fuel us on our walking trip around Sapporo before we head back to Rumoi City in the afternoon.

We visited most of the places that I visited yesterday like the following:

Hokkaido Government Office / Akarenga
Sapporo Clock Tower
Odori Park and Sapporo TV Tower

From Odori Park, we headed to the subway and bought the Donichika Ticket. We rode the Toho subway to Higashikuyakusho-mae Station and then walked to Sapporo Beer Museum.

We explored the Sapporo Beer Museum to learn about one of our favorite beers

We explored the Sapporo Beer Museum for about an hour before heading to Sapporo JR  Station by bus. From Sapporo JR Station, we boarded the Namboku Line to Odori Station then transferred to the Tozai Line to Oyachi Station.

Ate snacks at Mister Donut in Sapporo JR Station while waiting for our bus home

For our last destination for the day, we spent an hour and a half shopping at Super 2nd Street Oyachi. From there, we rode the subway back to Sapporo JR Station and had snacks at Mister Donut while waiting for our 6PM Engan Bus back home.

We arrived at our house in Rumoi City at around 8:20PM officially wrapping up our first full day as a family here in Hokkaido Prefecture. See you on our next adventures!

Hiking Mt. Gulugod Baboy

Our adventure today takes us to a mountain south of Metro Manila. Mt. Gulugod Baboy  (other variations Mt. Gulugod-Baboy ) is located in Anilao, Mabini in the province of Batangas. Located in Rosario in the province of Cavite, Casa Hacienda de Tejeros is famously known as the location of the historic Tejeros Convention of 1897. Calaca Church - Batangas

Located at the poblacion of Calaca in the province of Batangas, Calaca Church is one of the Spanish colonial era churches of the province.
