Laguna: Sta Elena Fun Farm

Image
Located in Sta. Elena in the city of Cabuyao in Laguna province, Sta Elena   Fun Farm is a great place to bring your children on a weekend family bonding getaway. If you're looking for a place away from the crowded malls and traffic jams of the city, then a trip to Fun Farm is fit for you and your family. You'd surely enjoy the quiet provincial atmosphere (with the seasonal quacks from passing ducks) of Fun Farm. Your children would also enjoy the farm activities that they only hear from their grandparents who live in far-flung provinces. Here are some animals on the farm: Chocnut the Carabao One of the many rabbits in the farm pigs ducks The hamster gang Fun Farm is surely a nature lover's haven. I highly recommend this place for family picnics, kiddie birthday parties, and even field trips. For an entrance fee of only 300 pesos pax, your kids (including you) would have plenty of activities to try and enjoy like: Horseback riding

Being a foodie or a food lover is a common trait among adventurous Filipinos (like me). We never back down on any food (as long as it's edible and of course won't kill us). Be it fine dining, street foods, or exotic delicacies we would always take the opportunity to try it out but mind you, we're not gluttons we just love this kind of adventure. That's why we consider buffet and eat-all-you-can restaurants as our paradise. Best Buffet Tactics Speaking of buffet restaurants, My wife and I decided to celebrate her birthday at one. Because we brought our baby daughter along with us we had to take turns getting food from the buffet area. And because of that, I happen to have a chance to look around  and observe the people around me (I didn't enjoy what I saw). Due to the fact that my wife took years filling up her plate, I managed to make my list of  The Best Buffet Tactics  that would help every foodie come out a winner during their buffet adventures. Food Trip: Maja Blanca

Image
Although it is Spanish in origin, the Maja Blanca or coconut pudding/ coconut cake as it is often called is a thick  white  gelatinous substance with a sweet flavor and is commonly made from coconut milk and cornstarch. However, if corn kernels are used in preparing the dessert, the dish would be called maja blanca con maiz , maja maiz , or maja blanca maiz . Maja Blanca Tracing back its history, I found out that the Maja Blanca was adapted from the dish called  Manjar Blanco  which is related to the dessert called  Blancmange  which is a French word meaning "white delicacy".  My wife's version of Maja Blanca and Maja Blanca Maiz Maja Blanca is prepared during special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, and fiestas. Th is dessert has since been fossilized into the Filipino culture, tradition, and stomach. So what do we need in order for us to make our own Maja Blanca?  Maja Blanca Ingredients:  Here are some of the ingredients we used. 4 cups of cocon
