Monday – Rumoi

It’s a -6-degree cloudy winter Monday morning here in Rumoi City. I’m back reporting to Rumoi High School.

2nd period – School Uniforms @ 1-34 of Matsuda-sensei
After the second period, Matsuda-sensei asked me if I could make a slide about school uniforms in the Philippines, which I did. I also made a handout for that to make the lesson tomorrow more interesting.

After classes, I helped facilitate the weekly Rumoi High School English Club. We made something for Rimu-san, who is graduating this year. We also planned for the promotion of the Club during the orientation with the incoming 1st year students.

It’s a cold Tuesday morning. I’m back at Rumoi High School for my usual Tuesday visit. I’m excited today as I’m going to lead the class in discussing the “school uniform culture” of the Philippines.

After classes, the faculty had a meeting about the upcoming 1st year entrance exams. I stayed in the faculty room and spent my time reading books and learning Japanese.

When I got home, we decided to go to 711 Minamimachi to buy snacks. When we got home, I spent the time bonding with my kids. When they were asleep, I updated my blog and did some work on the book that I'm writing for Abiva Publishing House.

Wednesday – Rumoi

Today dawned with a bitter chill, a brisk -12 degrees to start the day. Unlike my usual routine of school visits during the week, I found myself reporting to Rumoi High School.

Our contracting organization, CLAIR, had emailed us about completing Safety Confirmation Training, a mandatory hour-long task. Surprisingly, it proved to be a breeze, taking hardly a minute to wrap up.

The day was dominated by preparations for tomorrow's graduation ceremony, leaving little time for collaborative work. At lunch, we penned farewell letters to Raimu, a graduating member of the Rumoi High School English Club, reminiscing on shared moments.

After work, my family and I made a trip to COOP for groceries. My wife was eager to gather ingredients for the upcoming visit from our friend Alaina and her son, Taiga, scheduled for Friday.
Day 850: February 29, 2024
Thursday – Rumoi

Today is a special day—it's leap day and the last day of February. Despite the cold, the sun is shining brightly as I head back to Rumoi High School.

There are no usual classes on the schedule. Instead, everyone is buzzing with activity for the Graduation Practice of the third-year students. We spent the morning in the gym, lending a hand from 9:50 AM to 12 NN to ensure everything went smoothly.

After the practices, the Rumoi High School English Club had a simple farewell program for Raimu, our sole 3rd-year member. He is also the club president. It was a moving event, but we all had fun wishing him the best.

Friday – Rumoi x Graduation Day

It’s a very cold Friday. With no scheduled school visits this week, I’m back to my Mother's School, Rumoi High School. Today is a very special day as it is the Graduation Day Ceremony of the 3rd-year students.

The event started at 8:50 and ended at 11 AM.
Overall, I only went to Rumoi High School this week. The highlight of the week is the Graduation Day Ceremony for the 3rd year students of Rumoi High School.
