It’s another sunny day. The snow outside had melted significantly. If this continues, there won’t be any left by the end of next month. For today’s work, I’m back at my main school, Rumoi High School.

Here’s my workload today:

In the evening, I published a reel on our Facebook page, and I was surprised by how quickly it gained views. This motivated me to make more quality videos in the future.

That evening, Noboru-san picked me up and we drove to Asuka coffee shop for our bi-weekly Rumoi English Conversation Club. Our topic was “First Love”. There were only three of us present, and we had a heartfelt discussion about love and the meaning of life.

Happy birthday, Emperor Naruhito!

It was a beautiful morning, and the weather forecast promised sunshine for most of the day. Since it was a National Holiday, it felt like a waste to just stay home, so we decided to head out to COSTCO Ishikari in Ishikari City (石狩市). It had been quite a while since our last visit, so my wife immediately approved the plan.

The drive from Rumoi City to Ishikari City normally takes around 2 hours and 16 minutes, but because I tend to drive slower during winter, it took us almost 3 hours to get there. Along the way, we made a quick stop at 2nd Street Ishikari to look for toys and clothes for Kai.

From there, COSTCO was just a short drive away, and we spent most of the day grocery shopping. There were so many items we don’t normally see in our local stores, so we ended up filling the cart more than we expected. No surprise our total reached 35,000 yen.

Before heading home, we grabbed dinner at the COSTCO food court. We ordered a box of pizza, and of course, I didn’t skip the 180-yen hot dog with unlimited drinks. It’s always a great deal.

We arrived home around 8 PM, tired but happy. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip for all of us. And so far, Ishikari City is the farthest I’ve driven this winter. I was nervous on the snowy roads, but by the end of the day, I felt more confident. Because of that, we’re already planning another drive this weekend—this time, for an onsen trip.
