Weekend 92: August 5 - 6, 2023
Day 642: August 5, 2023
Saturday - Rumoi x Kai's 1st Month
It's another rainy day here in Rumoi. The weather forecast predicts continuous rain throughout the day, leaving us with no choice but to spend the day indoors.
However, despite the gloomy weather, we decided to make the most of the day by celebrating Kai's first month in the world, albeit in a simple yet meaningful way. My wife prepared a delicious batch of spaghetti, and I made a quick trip to COOP to pick up some ice cream for dessert.
As we enjoyed our homemade meal together, it felt like a warm and cozy family gathering, cherishing the joy that Kai has brought into our lives. Sometimes, it's the simplest moments that hold the most significance.
To cap off the day, we indulged in some entertainment and chose to watch the 2023 Japanese live-action adaptation of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead on Netflix. The thrilling plot and suspenseful scenes made the rainy evening surprisingly enjoyable.
Despite the limitations of being indoors, we managed to create beautiful memories as a family on this rainy day in Rumoi. It reminded us that happiness can be found in the little things, like a warm meal shared with loved ones and the excitement of discovering new movies together.
Day 643: August 6, 2023
Sunday - Rumoi
It was a rainy night, but fortunately, the rain ceased by 9 AM today. Nevertheless, the weather forecast proved accurate, as the sky remained cloudy throughout the day.
Given the weather conditions, we made the decision to stay home and enjoy quality time with our bundle of joy, baby Kai. For lunch, I prepared one of my best dishes, giniling, which we relished together. The comforting aroma filled our home, making the meal even more delightful.
After lunch, we set out to take care of some errands. Our first stop was at Rumoi Shinkin Bank, where we withdrew our budget for the month. With that task accomplished, we proceeded to COOP to purchase groceries for the coming days.
Once back home, we unloaded the groceries and settled in. To add a touch of joy to our day, we indulged in some tasty snacks. The day seemed to stretch ahead, and I decided to seize the opportunity to spend extra time with Kai, knowing that I would be returning to work tomorrow.
As the evening approached, I wanted to balance work preparation with relaxation. My daughter and I chose to spend the night binging several episodes of Spy x Family, a captivating series that brought both laughter and intrigue to our living room. It was a delightful way to unwind and share precious moments together.
Overall, we might not have visited any new towns this weekend but it was still a fulfilling one as we were able to spend more time together at home. I'm looking forward to more family time in the future.
