Team Nicerio dines at Hagoromo-tei Memuro Branch

On August 13, 2023, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Hagoromo-tei for the first time, coinciding with my 650th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. This restaurant was our first stop in Memuro, and as sushi enthusiasts, we were thrilled to experience a local conveyor belt sushi spot. 

What stood out to us was the generous portion sizes, noticeably larger than those offered at the conveyor belt restaurants we often visit in Asahikawa. Additionally, each dish was delicious, made even better by the knowledge that all the ingredients were sourced locally from the Tokachi region. The only concern that I have is that one needs to write their order on a piece of paper. It is wasteful, as many conveyor belt sushi restaurants have already adopted the use of in-store devices to place orders. It’s also foreigner-friendly as these devices usually have an English version.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Memuro—it’s a culinary experience not to be missed!

Getting to Hagoromo-tei Memuro Branch

 

The nearest train station here is the Memuro Station. From there, you have an option to walk or ride the local bus.

If you decide to go there on foot, it's 2.1 kilometers away, and depending on your pace, it would take about half an hour.

For the local bus, you can ride the Jaga Bus - Sogo Taiikukan Homen, operated by the Memuro Town Community Bus. Board down at Hotel ARM Memuro mae bus stop. Once there, walk for about 120 meters to Hagoromo-tei.
