The farm produce direct sales store, under the motto of "safe, secure, and inexpensive," offers fresh, pesticide-free vegetables picked that morning and rare vegetables that you rarely see at reasonable prices. Fresh Niseko vegetables, just harvested that morning, are lined up. In spring, carrots, vegetable seedlings, and the ever-popular asparagus are grown under the snow, while from summer to autumn, a variety of vegetables fill the space, and melons and potatoes in particular are even sold in special tents when in season! Niseko's new rice appears around October, and Hokkaido's most representative varieties, such as Yumepirika, Nanatsuboshi, and Oborozuki, are available. Take your time to enjoy the store, which is packed with a wide variety of locally grown agricultural produce, from vegetables to sweets and processed foods.

The takeout shop also focuses on ingredients from Niseko, and the local gourmet food you can enjoy while looking out at Mt. Yotei is exceptional.

On April 1, 2023, my family and I visited Niseko Roadside Station for the first time during our 3-Day 2023 Birthday Road Trip. It was my 516th day in Japan as an ALT with the JET Programme. As part of our #Hokkaido179 travel goals, we made sure to stop at the Niseko Roadside Station during our visit to the town. My daughter and I took the opportunity to collect the roadside station stamp for our Hokkaido Stamp Rally and stamp collection. Meanwhile, my wife enjoyed browsing the fresh produce in the direct sales corner. We also had the chance to try the delicious Niseko Takahashi Ranch Drinking Yogurt, which my wife declared to be the best yogurt drink she had ever tasted.

Getting to Niseko Roadside Station

There are multiple ways to get to Niseko Roadside Station from Otaru Station, but this is the route I personally recommend:

From Otaru Station, head to the Otaru Eki Mae Bus Terminal and take the Sapporo - Niseko Niseko Ikoi no Yuyado Iroha bus operated by the Chuo Bus Company. Get off at the Niseko View Plaza bus stop, which is conveniently close to the roadside station.
