Day 203: May 23, 2022

Monday - Rumoi

Rumoi High School 5/23/22

Good morning everyone! It's the start of another week. It's my 30th week here in Japan to be exact. Today, I'll be working at Rumoi High School.

Here's my workload for today:

5th period - Intensive Reading @ 3-3456 of Matsuda-sensei
6th period - Past Tense @ 1-1 of Motoyama-sensei

During one of my free time, Matsuda-sensei talked to me about how to apply for a Japanese driver's license. Aside from that, I also made listening tests for Matsuda-sensei and Sengoku -sensei's classes. 


Overall, my first day of the week was tiring but fulfilling.

Tuesday - Rumoi

It's another day at Rumoi High School. It's drizzling so I was not able to bike to school today.

Here's my workload today:

1st period - Intensive Reading @ 3-F1 of Matsuda-sensei
3rd period - Animals in the Philippines @ 2-345 of Sato-sensei
5th period - Grammar Review of My Name is Ito Neko @ 1-1 of Motoyama-sensei

In the evening, I biked to Asuka for the Rumoi English Chat Club. Good news!! We have 3 new members namely, Yoshida-san, Fujiwara-san, and Nekoshima-san. Our topic for today is "What is your most happy or sad thing now?".

Wednesday - Teshio

Today is my 2nd visit to Teshio High School for the school year 2022 - 2023. For this visit, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

It's a back-to-back visit to Teshio. This visit is my 3rd to Teshio High School for the school year 2022 - 2023. For this trip, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Friday - Tomamae

Tomamae Commercial High School 5/27/22

It's another collab with the Tomamae ALTs Guy and Mike

Today is my 5th visit to Tomamae Commercial High School. For this trip, I used my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket. 

Here's my workload today:

2nd period - Occupations and Political Correctness @ 3rd year of Hasegawa-sensei
3rd period - New Vocabularies @ 2nd year of Hasegawa-sensei

Overall, I had 12 collaboration works this week with my JTEs from my different visit schools. It’s very fulfilling to see kids enjoy these collaborations. I'm looking forward to more next week.

Japan is undeniably a collector's paradise. As a matter of fact, there are a plethora of different things to collect here that are catered to every collector's unique taste and preference.  Anime fans have their usual toys, mangas, and memorabilia. Kimono Forest - Kyoto

Located in the Arashiyama Station of the Keifuku Randen Tram Arashiyama Line in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, in Kyoto Prefecture, Kimono Forest is a collection of cylinder-shaped pillars with beautiful Kimono designs that lines up the station which gives it an artistic design. Kimono Forest Kimono Forest History Kimono Forest was installed as part of the station's renovation in 2013. Its name came from the forest-like cluster of kimono designed pillars. These kimono displays consist of traditional Kyo-yuzen style textile patterns. The Kyo-yuzen textile used in the Kimono Forest was created by Kamedatomi which is a textile factory with a history that dates back to the Taisho Period.  Each pillar stands 2 meters high and is covered with acrylic fiber to protect the designs from moisture.  The pillars are also equipped with LED lights to give the "forest" a magical and dramatic look at night. There are about 600 kimono pillars installed in the Keifuku Arashiyama Station .

Located in Barangay San Pedro in Sto. Tomas in the province of Batangas, the National Shrine of St. Padre Pio is a pilgrimage site dedicated and inspired by Saint Padre Pio. National Shrine of St. Padre Pio National Shrine of St. Padre Pio History The shrine initially started out as a bamboo and nipa chapel back in 2003. Then on November 7, 2005, a 1.6-hectare agricultural land was donated to the Archdiocese of Lipa by a generous couple. This land would be the site of the new chapel and later on the Shrine of St. Padre Pio . Tenryuji - Kyoto

Located in 68 Susukinobaba-cho, Saga-Tenryuji, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City in Kyoto Prefecture, Tenryuji ( 天龍寺 )  is one of the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kyoto City. Tenryuji  ( 天龍寺 ) Tenryuji History Tenryuji was built under the instructions of shogun Ashikaga Takauji in 1339 in memory of Emperor Go-Daigo who had passed away that year. The temple's name tenryu  literally translates to the "dragon of the sky". The name came from a dream of Ashikaga Takauji's younger brother Tadayoshi. The temple was completed at around 1345 and the eminent Rinzai Zen master Muso Soseki was appointed as its founding abbot after which the temple prospered as the most important Rinzai temple in Kyoto.
