It’s getting warmer already, with temperatures going from -1 in the morning to 4 degrees by noon. For today’s school visit, I’m back at my main school – Rumoi High School.

Here’s my workload for today:

2nd period – Mock Debate @ 1-34 of Matsuda-sensei

3rd period – Grammar Course: Who, Whom, Whose, Which, and That @ 1-56 of Matsuda-sensei

6th period – A Door to A New Life @ 1-1 of Matsuda-sensei

Look who was waiting for me.

That evening, my daughter and I watched an episode of the Korean zombie series “Happiness”. It's good, but we weren't that hooked with it, as we feel that it lacks the suspense of a zombie flick.

The weather forecasts predicted a warm day, but during my walk to Rumoi High School for work, it felt quite chilly.

Speaking of work, here’s my workload today:

It’s a -6-degree morning, but like in the past days, it would be warmer by noon. Looking at the weather forecast, it will be like this in the next few days. As for my work today, I don’t have any out-of-town school visits, so I’m back reporting to Rumoi High School.

Here’s my workload for today:

4th period – Debate @ 1-34 of Matsuda-sensei

Before calling it a night, my daughter and I watched an episode of the Korean zombie series “Happiness”. We are already more than halfway through the series now, and in my opinion, the series has more talk and less action for a zombie flick.

Day 864: March 14, 2024

Thursday – Embetsu Rumoi

Rumoi High School 3.14.24
Rumoi High School 3.14.24

It’s a cold morning. Embetsu Agricultural High School canceled today’s school visit because the students will have their exams, so I’m back at Rumoi High School for work.

Here’s my workload for today:

1st period – Describing Something I like @ 1-1 of Matsuda-sensei

When I got home from work, I drove to Shell Serufu to buy touyu (kerosene) for our heater. I thought that it would be warmer already, as the snow was already melting all around.

Day 865: March 15, 2024

Friday – Tomamae

It’s a cold, cloudy Friday. Today, I’m off to Tomamae Commercial High School. It’s my 28th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. This is also my last visit for this month. For this trip, I used my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Here’s my workload for today:

4th period – Karuta game @ 1st year of Matsushita-sensei

During my free time, Matsushita-sensei talked about today being the luckiest day of the year because it’s both Taian (大安) Day and Tensha-bi (天赦日).

Taian is believed to be a lucky day in Japan and is often depicted in red on some Japanese calendars. Tensha-bi is believed to be a lucky day when the Japanese believe that god will forgive all sins.

Before leaving Tomamae Commercial High School, Matsushita-sensei gave Jon and me a leather coaster that he made. It’s something that I will treasure.

Overall, I was a bit relaxed this week. I only visited Rumoi High School and Tomamae Commercial High School. I’m looking forward to what this weekend has to offer.
