Four Seasons Tower |
The first time my family visited the Four Seasons Tower (四季の塔) in the town of Biei was on June 25, 2022, which marked my 236th day in Japan as an ALT with the JET Programme. It was a hot summer day, and we explored the town by rental bike. Our second visit was on March 21, 2023, during our Vernal Equinox Road Trip, which happened to be my 505th day in Japan.

Four Seasons Tower - Biei town, Hokkaido Prefecture |
This time, our experience was completely different—what was once a lush green landscape had transformed into a winter wonderland, blanketed in white snow. I’m grateful to have had the chance to witness Biei in both its vibrant summer and peaceful winter forms.
