Ebetsu (江別市) is a bustling city in the Ishikari Subprefecture of Hokkaido, Japan. There are various theories about the origin of the name of the city. It is believed to be a corruption of the Ainu language like “ye pet” which means “a river that is murky like pus” and “ipe-ot” which means “there are many fish”
