Day 378: November 14, 2022

Monday – Rumoi

It’s the start of a new week. Thankfully it’s blessed with a clear beautiful day. Today, I’ll be reporting for work at Rumoi High School.

Although there were no club activities today, It was still a busy day, and as a matter of fact, I left work at around 6 PM. It has been quite a while since I last saw Rumoi High School at night.

Day 379: November 15, 2022

Tuesday – Lab Test #3 at Rumoi Municipal Hospital

It’s a cold cloudy Tuesday morning. Today, I’m back at Rumoi High School. What’s special about today is that it’s my schedule for the last part of the lab tests at Rumoi Municipal Hospital. Aside from that, I will also find out the results of the lab tests done last time.

Like last week, Sekiguchi-san accompanied me to the hospital to help me with the translations. Thankfully, unlike last week, we finished in just 2 hours. The findings were normal except for my cholesterol. The doctor said I should go on a diet and avoid oily and fried food. At least that gave me a breather which removed my health concerns.

After completing the lab tests and paying the fees, Sekiguchi-san and I then drove back to Rumoi High School to continue work.

Day 380: November 16, 2022

Wednesday – Teshio

I wanted to go for a walk so I boarded at Teshio #2 bus stop

I walked from the bus stop to Teshio High School via the Yamate Back Street (山手裏通)

Today's weather would be sleet, according to the prediction. When I arrived in Teshio, the walkways were wet and slick from the frozen water. It seems like I made the wrong decision of boarding down at the Teshio #2 bus stop.

Regardless, I arrived safely at Teshio High School. It’s my 9th visit for the school year 2022 – 2023. For this visit, I would be using my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Upon arriving at Teshio High School, I was informed that a lot of students and some teachers were affected by COVID-19. The 3rd year classes were asked not to report to school but to do online classes. One of my JTEs, Miyakoshi-sensei, was also absent so it’s only me and Ueki-sensei who would do collab work today.

Day 381: November 17, 2022

Thursday – Embetsu

Snowy morning to you guys! We woke up to a snowy and slushy morning. Today, I’m heading to Embetsu Agricultural High School. It’s my 21st visit for the school year 2022 – 2023. For this trip, I’ll be using my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Before it slips my mind, let me mention that today marks Mr. Toshi's birthday. Happy Birthday, Mr. Toshi! 🎂 Here's to hoping we'll have the opportunity to celebrate your special day together in the near future.

Day 381: November 18, 2022

Friday – Tomamae

It’s another Friday. Today, I’ll be heading to Tomamae Commercial High School. It’s my 24th visit for the school year 2022-2023. For this trip, I’ll be using my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Here’s my workload for today:

3rd period – Quiz @ 3rd year of Hasegawa-sensei

Whale meat taste test

During lunch, Hasegawa-sensei made us taste whale meat. It was my first time to taste it and I could say that it has a bacon-like taste but is saltier.

Overall, I wasn’t that busy this work week. What made it unique was my lab test at Rumoi Municipal Hospital. Thankfully, most of the results are normal except for my high cholesterol and fatty liver. Well, that’s a wake-up call for me to take my diet seriously.
