Weekend 9: January 1-2, 2022 Day 61: January 1, 2022 Saturday - New Year, New Adventures Happy New Year everyone! My Filipino friends and I stayed up late waiting for the clock to strike 12 to celebrate New Year. Although our Media Noche was not as grand as what we usually have back in the Philippines , we were contented with being with each other and celebrating this holiday together. Me and my friends finalizing our Certificate of Eligibility Since we stayed up late, naturally we also woke up late. We spent the whole morning finalizing our paperwork for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) application so that we could bring our family here to Japan . Tanukikoji Shopping Street ( 狸小路商店街 ) is a kilometer-long covered arcade that stretches from Minami 3 Nishi 1-7 chome and Minami 2 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo City in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan . It is one of the most popular shopping places for visitors and people in Sapporo City. Odori Park ( 大通公園 ) is located in the center of Sapporo City in Hokkaido Prefecture and is perhaps the most popular and visited park not only in the city but also in the prefecture. Odori Park Odori Park details  ( Winter Edition ) The name Odori is written in kanji as 大通 means "large street". Historically, in the 1869 city development plan of Shima Yoshitake , the park was supposed to be a large street that divides Sapporo into the northern part (public officers) and the southern park (residential). Week 9: December 27-31, 2021 Day 56: December 27, 2021 Monday - Rumoi Good morning everyone! Today is officially the first day of winter vacation for the students. Unlike in the Philippines where teachers are also on vacation, we are required to report for work until the school officially closes for the Shogatsu or New Year season which is from December 29 to January 3. Students, on the other hand, return to school on the third week of January. Rumoi High School 12/27/21 Inside one of Motoyama-sensei's classes Some teachers take this opportunity to file their nenkyu or paid leaves while others prefer to report back to work on the 4th of January.
