Solong Eco-Park Revisited 2021

My family and I got to visit Solong Eco-Park during our 2019 Bicol Road Trip. Although our last visit was quite recent, we decided to revisit it this time because we want to tour my brother Patrick and sister Aya, both of whom were unavailable last time.

Solong Eco-Park Details

For those who are unfamiliar with Solong Eco-Park, it is located at Barangay Solong, Camalig in the province of Albay.

Solong Eco-Park - Camalig, Albay

Solong Eco-Park opened to the public on April 29, 2017. This 6.5-hectare eco-park is known for its outdoor activities like spelunking in Crystal Cave and a 15-20 minute hiking course up Solong Hill

Welcome to Solong Eco-Park

Solong Eco-Park - Dragon Fruit Farm

What I like about Solong Eco-Park is its close relationship with Mother Nature. As a matter of fact, you'd see a bee farm, a plethora of flowering plants, and their newest addition - the dragon fruit farm.

Going up Solong Hill

Almost there... Cheer Kita! (Thanks for the motivation)

Going back to its hill and cave, it is highly recommended for visitors to try out both. Let your guide know that you are interested to visit Solong CaveCrystal Cave beforehand so that he/she can bring the flashlight.

The Crystal Cave tour is pretty much straightforward and even kids could join the tour. Just make sure that they won't run around inside. Your guide will share with you the details about the cave and would also print out unique-looking stalactites.

The Solong Hill trek is also easy to accomplish. During this trip, my daughter didn't even break a sweat going up the hill as she was all smiles after. The hilltop has a panoramic view of the Quitinday Hills and on a clear day, you'd see the majestic Mayon Volcano.

Lunchtime at Solong Eco-Park

We got to revisit Solong Eco-Park during the 3rd day of our 2021 Bicol Road Trip. During this trip, it was only me, my daughter, brother, and sister who went up Solong Hills and inside Crystal Caves. My parents and my wife decided to just stay at the guest area to rest and relax. Overall, it was an amazing bonding moment for us and also a perfect way for us to end our 3rd day here in Albay.

Why visit Solong Eco-Park?

Solong Eco-Park is a highly suggested destination for those who are planning to visit Albay, particularly the town of Camalig. Solong Eco-Park is a destination that offers an overall package of adventure. There's a mix of cave spelunking and hiking for visitors that's worth the 40 pesos entrance fee. Also, don't forget to try out the food here. They offer food that is grown on their farm.

Getting to Solong Eco-Park:

From Manila, ride a bus bound for Legazpi City in the province of Albay. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Camalig town proper. From there, you can rent a tricycle that will bring you to Solong Eco- Park and bring you back to the town proper after. The rate goes from 300 - 400 pesos.
