Tagaytay Picnic Grove - Cavite

Located in Tagaytay City in the province of Cavite, Tagaytay Picnic Grove is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city.

One of Tagaytay's most famous destinations, Tagaytay Picnic Grove is a perfect place to enjoy the view of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake.

Tagaytay Picnic Grove Details

Tagaytay Picnic Grove is known for its numerous picnic huts and tables. It is also one of the places in Tagaytay City where you could try horseback riding, zipline, and cable car rides. An eco-trail is also located in Tagaytay Picnic Grove. What makes this place a favorite destination for many is its prime location. It is one of the best places in the city to view Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. Aside from that, the cold weather also draws tourists who want to escape the heat and pollution of Manila.

Great place to go on a picnic

If you're looking for souvenirs, there are plenty of stores in Tagaytay Picnic Grove that sells Tagaytay City merchandise like shirts, keychains, ref magnets, and many more. You could also buy food and drinks from the many food stalls in the vicinity. You and your children would also probably enjoy posing and having your picture taken with the ponies in the park (for a fee of course).

Expect to walk a lot in Tagaytay Picnic Grove.

During my recent visit to Tagaytay Picnic Grove, I noticed that there are several changes in the park (well, the last time I visited it was half a decade ago). The zipline ride seems to have become the highlight of the park (it was horseback riding before.)

There are some spots that are truly quite picturesque

There are plenty of parts to visit

One of the highlights of the visit here is the bridge crossing.

However, there are plenty of things that seem to be remnants of the past, that in some way negatively affect Tagaytay Picnic Grove. These are the picnic huts, grill areas, cemented pathways, and even the hanging bridge. I have nothing against keeping things that help people reminisce of old times but at least fix, improve, and maintain them. I have seen several of the huts in the sad deplored state. The grilling areas and the grill itself are used by some as trash bins while the pathways are slippery if not broken. The hanging bridge on the other hand had vandals that date back to the time of Lapu-Lapu. These things defeat the purpose of giving families a memorable picnic moment.

While here, you can buy some cheap souvenirs from the local vendors

Why visit Tagaytay Picnic Grove?

Overall, Tagaytay Picnic Grove is still one of the most affordable places one could visit in Tagaytay. It is also a perfect place to bond with the family and view the picturesque Taal Lake and Taal Volcano. Despite the several dilapidated and vandalized structures in it, there is still hope that someday the management would consider giving Tagaytay Picnic Grove its well-deserved facelift.

Getting to Tagaytay Picnic Grove:

There are buses and vans bound directly to Tagaytay City from Manila. Another place to find Tagaytay bound buses are in the Coastal Mall terminal. The rotunda of the city would serve as the entry point to Tagaytay City. Jeepneys would be your primary mode of transportation in Tagaytay. Each ride costs 15 pesos.

    1. That's true. =) The kids would surely love this place but this place is usually crowded so they won't totally enjoy it. Better to visit on a weekend.

  2. There's a bridge and a zipline at Picnic Grove now? Wow. I think I went there 5 or 6 years ago and I neither saw that bridge nor that zipline so they might be some newer attractions in there. My how time flies. I guess I have another reason to go back. You see, I happen to like riding ziplines.

    1. Yup. Things do change fast. Well management needs to upgrade their facilities or else the nearby Sky Ranch would give them a run for their money.

  13. Parang OA naman yung cottage rental diyan sa Tagaytay Picnic Grove. Mahal tapos sira sira yung iba. Sana ipaayos nila or pagandahin. Sayang kasi madalas kami diyan ng barkada ko dati.

    1. I agree. Sana ipaayos nila yung mga cottage and kahit yung mga boardwalks. Ang ganda kaya ng Picnic Grove. Kulang lang sa maintenance.
