Matagoan Festival

The first one tago means a person or human being, while the other word, matago, means to live.

Hinulawan Festival

This festival is a way for the locals to present the historical past of the people and the city. The word hinulawan is the old name of the city. It came from the phrase hinauang bulawan which means hard-earned gold.

San Juan sa Hibok-Hibok Festival

Location: Province of Camiguin
Details: The festival is celebrated every 24th of June. Its highlights are the fluvial procession and water sports. This festival is held in honor of St. John The Baptist.

Dorong Festival

Kaliguan Fluvial Festival

Details: The festival is celebrated every 24th of June. Its highlight is the search for the Perlas ng Kaliguan beauty pageant. Aside from that expect a lot of beach dancing and lots of fun beach activities. This festival is in honor of the town's patron saint, St. John the Baptist. The word kaliguan means to take a refreshing bath after tedious work.

Taong Putik Festival

Location: Aliaga, Province of Nueva Ecija
Details: The festival is celebrated every 24th of June. Its highlight is the religious procession where the locals wear dried banana leaves and vines on their mud-covered bodies. This festival is a way for the locals to honor St. John the Baptist because he was known to be shabbily dressed. The word tao means human while putik means mud.

Empanada Festival

This festival is also a way for the locals to celebrate the charter day of the city. An empanada is a type of stuffed bread that is either baked or fried.

Parada ng Lechon

Details: The festival is celebrated every 24th of June. Its highlight is the Parade of Lechon which would then be partaken by the guests and locals. This festival coincides with the Feast of St. John the Baptist. it also symbolizes unity among the barangays of the municipality. The phrase parada ng lechon means a parade of the Lechon.

Naliyagan Festival

Location: Prosperidad, Province of Agusan Del Sur
Details: The festival is celebrated every 12th to 17th of June. Its highlights are the week-long socio-cultural and arts exposition of indigenous tribes from the entire Agusan valley. This festival is a way for the different tribes of Agusan to display their skills and gracefulness in dancing as part of their ritual activities. The word naliyagan means the chosen one.

Diwata Festival

Details: The festival is celebrated every 21st of June. Its highlight is street dancing. This festival coincides with the anniversary of the foundation of the municipality. The word diwata means fairy.

Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival

Location: Tacloban, Province of Leyte
Details: The festival is celebrated every 29th of June. Its highlight is the parade where the participants are all painted from head to toe. This festival is a way for the locals and guests to remember the Pre-Spanish culture and traditions of the people who once lived in the province. The word pintados means painted and the word kasadyaan is a Visayan word that means merriment.

Lubid-Lubid Festival

Location: Tiaong, Province of Quezon
Details: The festival is celebrated every late June to early July. Its highlight is the street dancing competitions. This festival is a way for the locals to showcase their product which is the abaca-hemp. The word lubid means rope.
