Bicol Road Trip 2021: Day 7 & 8

Day 7: July 23, 2021

Palengke Trip

It's another rainy morning here in Casa Nicerio in Camalig, Albay. Thankfully the rain weakened into a drizzle by 7AM. Since my online work commitments are still scheduled at around 10AM, I decided to accompany my dad on his trip to the market.

Camalig Public Market

We drove to Camalig Public Market at around 7:30AM to buy fish, meat, and some veggies for the week. We didn't stay long enough though as I need to prepare for my seminars and meetings.

My dad bought some "kakanin"

When I got home, I rested a bit and joined the meetings. There were no power outages today so things went out well. My wife and mom cooked a sumptuous meal so lunch was something I looked forward to while working.

After lunch, my work took up my whole afternoon. That night, we just watched some Netflix films. I'm excited for tomorrow (Friday) as the schedule is lighter which means I can go out again with my wife. So see you guys!

Day 8: July 24, 2021

Daraga Trip

TGIF (Thank God it's Friday)! I wanted to go out today but guess what?

Netflix time at Casa Nicerio

Yup! you're right! It's another rainy day today. Hence, instead of going out, we decided to watch the film Kingdom: Ashin of the North followed by some episodes of Sweet Tooth.

Daraga Church revisited 2021

Thankfully, the rain stopped after the second episode of Sweet Tooth. My wife and I once again drove to Legazpi City. On the way, we had a stopover at the town of Daraga to revisit the historic Daraga Church

The first time we visited Daraga Church was during our 2014 CamSur-Albay Road Trip. Nothing much changed except this time Mayon Volcano did not show itself to us and just hid behind the clouds.

SM City Legazpi

After exploring Daraga Church, we continued to SM Legazpi (again). We bought some groceries that we failed to buy during our last visit and before going back home, we bought a cake at Red Ribbon because we were invited to my Aunt Lorna's house for her birthday.

Happy birthday Tita Lorna

On our way there, we picked up my mom at Casa Nicerio. We spent the whole afternoon catching up with my dad's sister. This is the first time that I saw her since arriving here.

That night, we rested well with our hearts and stomachs full. See you on our next adventure.
