Diyandi Festival

Location: Iligan City, Province of Lanao del Norte
Details: The festival is celebrated every 1st of September until the 2nd of October. Its highlight is the ceremonial dance offering of the union of the Maranao men and Higa-on women in marriage as well as the offering of their harvest to their patron saint. This festival is a means to promote cultural identity and to also honor the patron saint of Iligan City. The word diyandi means to celebrate.

Dalit Festival

Location: Tangub City, Province of Misamis Occidental
Details: The festival is celebrated every 29th of September. Its highlight is the colorful street dancing parade. This festival serves to honor St. Michael the Archangel the patron saint of Tangub City. The word dalit means to offer.

Talakudong Festival

Location: Tacurong City, Province of Sultan Kudarat
Details: The festival is celebrated every 18th of September. Its highlight is the very colorful and festive street dancing parade. This festival is a week-long celebration highlighting the kudong accompanied by the exotic sound of percussion instruments. The word talukdong is derived from the word kudong which means head covering.

Dumalondong Festival

Location: Esperanza, Province of Agusan Del Sur
Details: The festival is celebrated every 23rd of September. Its highlight is the performance of tribal rituals by different tribal leaders of the province. This festival is an annual convergence of the tribal leaders of Agusan Del Sur

Banigan-Kawayan Festival

Location: Basey, Province of Samar
Details: The festival is celebrated every 29th of September. Its highlight is the beautiful and colorful local products. This festival is a way for the locals to showcase their products such as woven mats and bamboo crafts. The word banig-kawayan came from the words banig and kawayan which means woven mats and bamboo crafts.

Handuraw Festival

Location: Leon, Province of Iloilo
Details: The festival is celebrated every 1st of September. Its highlight is the dramatic cultural presentation. This festival is a way for the locals to commemorate the transfer of Pueblo del Camando (the site of the old municipality)  to Sitio Capan (the present site of the municipality). The word handuraw means flashback, the power of imagination, and to reminisce.

Buyloganay Festival

Location: Ivisan, Province of Capiz
Details: The festival is celebrated every 6th to the 10th of September. Its highlight is the colorful street parade. This festival is in honor of the patron saint of Ivisan, St. Nicolas of Tolentino. The word buyloganay is typical of an Ivisan culture characterized by the gesture of unity and cooperation.

Burdang Lumban Festival

Location: Lumban, Province of Laguna
Details: The festival is celebrated every 21st of September. Its highlight is the municipal-wide weaving event, where almost everybody from the town would participate in weaving and the one with the most beautiful design would win a prize. This festival is a way for the locals to promote the local industry of weaving. The word Burdang Lumban means to weave in the manner of those from Lumban.

Banamos Festival

Location: Los Banos, Province of Laguna
Details: The festival is celebrated every 17th to the 23rd of September. Its highlights are the street dancing competition, science discovery exhibit, beauty pageant, and the Makiling Quest Adventure Race. This festival is a way to showcase the numerous hot springs of the town and also to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the municipality of Los Banos. The word banamos means to bathe.

Pagay Festival

Location: Alicia, Province of Isabela
Details: The festival is celebrated every 28th of September. Its highlight is the colorful street dancing. This festival is a way for the locals to celebrate the founding anniversary of their municipality and also to serve as a promotion for the local industry of rice planting. The word pagay is a local term for the word palay means rice.

Galaan Festival

Location: Don Victoriano, Province of Misamis Occidental
Details: The festival is celebrated every 17th of September. Its highlight is the colorful street parade. This festival is a way for the locals to showcase the different farm products of the town.

Tambobo Festival

Location: Ajuy, Province of Iloilo
Details: The festival is celebrated every 8th to 10th of September. Its highlight is the lavish feast of crops that sustains the community. This festival is a presentation of the municipality's incomparable and overflowing human, material, and natural wealth. The word tambobo is a Hiligaynon term for a storehouse, warehouse, or a storage structure for agricultural products, or other goods that are stored and kept until a demand or need arises.

Sarakiki-Hadang Festival

Location: Calbayog City, Province of Western Samar
Details: The festival is celebrated every 7th of September. Its highlight is the rhythmic dance which is thought to cure the sick and bring a good harvest. This festival is a ritual performance where participants dance in a mix of sarakiki and hadang movements. The word sarakiki describes the frenzied movements of a rooster as it tries to court a hen or challenge another rooster to a fight. The word hadang, on the other hand, refers to the olden day rituals performed by the locals as offering to the gods.
