Week 87: June 26 – 30, 2023

Day 602: June 26, 2023

Monday – Rumoi

Good morning, Ella!

It's a beautiful sunny day today. With a renewed sense of adventure, I decided to seize this opportunity and hop on my trusty bicycle, affectionately named Basky, as I made my way to Rumoi High School for work. It's been months since I last relied on Basky for my daily commute, and the feeling of riding a bicycle again was amazing.

Here’s my workload today:

1st period with Matsuda-sensei

1st period – Curry Travels @ 1-56 of Matsuda-sensei
2nd period – Performance Task Preparation @ 1-34 of Matsuda-sensei
5th period – “Hokkaido” Presentation @ 1-6 of Ito-sensei
6th period – “Breakfast” Presentation @ 1-2 of Ito-sensei

I then went to Midorigaoka Elementary School for a meeting with Ella's adviser.

After classes, the English Club had a photoshoot at the Memorial Hall for the Rumoi High School yearbook. After that, I biked to Midorigaoka Elementary School for my meeting with Kihara-sensei.

From there, I headed back home, and we went to COOP with Ella to buy groceries. We didn't stay up late, though. So when we got home, we just ate dinner and called it a day.  

Day 603: June 27, 2023

Tuesday – Rumoi

Rumoi High School 6.27.23

It’s another sunny day. It’s a bit warmer than yesterday, and I’m starting to sweat a lot. This gives me the impression that it’s finally summer. As for my work, it’s my second day at Rumoi High School this week.

Day 604: June 28, 2023

Wednesday – Teshio

Teshio High School 6.28.23

It’s a cloudy day with scattered rain. I’m heading to my farthest-visit school – Teshio High School- for the first of two visits this week. It’s my 7th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I’m using my 2-day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.

2nd period – Perception Verbs @ 2A of Miyakoshi-sensei
3rd period – Find the Difference Speaking Activity @ 3A of Miyakoshi-sensei

During lunchtime, I had a practice conversation with one of the students for her university entrance interview.

5th period – Passive Voice @ 1A of Miyakoshi-sensei

The bus ride home to Rumoi. Thank you, Engan Bus, for the safe trip

On my way home, it was still raining hard. Since it was a more than 3-hour bus ride back to Rumoi City, I was able to sleep comfortably in the back seat of the bus. This is actually one of the reasons why I love going to Teshio. I get extra sleep going to school and also going back home. 

When I got home, I studied with Ella and helped her with her homework. Before calling it a day, I watched one episode of the 3rd season of "Catching Killers" on Netflix.

Day 605: June 29, 2023

Thursday – Teshio

Teshio High School 6.29.23

According to the weather forecast, it’s a cloudy day today with a chance of rain. For today’s work trip, I’m heading to Teshio High School again for the second day of my back-to-back visit. It’s my 8th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this trip, I’m using my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.

4th period – Roman Baths @ 3A of Miyakoshi-sensei

During lunchtime, I had a practice conversation again with one of the 3rd-year students for her university entrance interview.

5th period – Perception Verbs @ 2A of Miyakoshi-sensei

When I got home after work, I spent time helping Ella with her homework. We also had a video call with my wife, who is in Osaka. She is already preparing for her birth. We are very excited to welcome the new member of our family. Soon, Team Nicerio will have 4 members. 

Day 606: June 30, 2023

Friday – Tomamae

It’s a rainy Friday. To wrap up my work week, I’m off to visit Tomamae Commercial High School. Today’s visit is my 8th visit for the School Year 2023 – 2024. For this visit, I used my 2-day Skip Moekko Free Ticket.

Rumoi City Library

When I got back home, I spent quality time with Ella. First, we went to the Rumoi City Library to read some books.

Ella didn't miss the opportunity of writing a message to hang on the "Message Tree"

For dinner, we ate out at Fireburg Rumoi. Before heading back home, we went to COOP to buy some groceries. Before calling it a day, I binge-watched the remaining episodes of the 3rd season of "Catching Killers" on Netflix.

To wrap up the week, I visited Rumoi High School, Teshio High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School this week. Just like every week, I’m tired but fulfilled.
