Day 474: February 18, 2023

Saturday – Rest Day

The days are gradually warming up, bringing with them a sense of renewal and vitality. Today unfolded as a calm respite from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. With the sun casting its gentle rays through the windows, we chose to stay indoors, dedicating the day to rest and tackling the various chores that had accumulated over time.

During my leisure hours, I delved into the world of words, immersed in the task of editing articles for my blog. Each sentence became a brushstroke, painting a canvas of thoughts and ideas. There's a unique joy in refining words, sculpting them into a coherent expression of creativity.

Maishin's Eiken training
I trained Maishin for his language test tomorrow.

As the day gently transitioned into evening, a special event marked the hours before sunset. Mr. Toshi's grandson, Maishin, and I embarked on an Eiken practice session. The air was filled with anticipation and the quiet determination of a student eager to learn. Maishin proved to be a swift learner, absorbing knowledge like a sponge. His enthusiasm and dedication fueled my optimism, and I found myself harboring high hopes for his impending exam.

Good morning everyone! It’s a beautiful Sunday morning. Today, I’m heading to Rumoi High School for a special assignment.

Rumoi High School

It’s a confidential task so I won’t be able to share more about it. I spent the whole day in Rumoi High School doing an important task.

I got home at around 3 PM. My family and I went on a walk around the neighborhood. Originally, we were planning to eat out, but when we got COOP, we decided that it would be more practical to just buy groceries and cook at home instead. Well, I wasn’t expecting that I’d be the one cooking, though. Hahaha.

Overall, my 68th weekend here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme was productive. Although my family and I didn’t get to travel to any new places today, we got to have plenty of rest to energize us for the next work week. See you guys!
