Rumoi High School 1.30.23 |
Today was not a busy day for me as the 3rd year classes that I frequently visit already finished their school year. I spent my morning doing some final touches to the Valentine’s Day PowerPoint Presentation that I would use on my visit to Obira Special Needs School.

We watched a short video about New Year's Resolution before making one |
Aside from that, Matsuda-sensei and I discussed the schedule of my Driving Practice tomorrow and also the Driver’s License Practical Exam in mid-February. He also helped me inform Kyoto-sensei about my wife’s pregnancy.
That afternoon, we had the English Club. We talked about New Year’s Resolution and also made one for ourselves. We then shared this. After that, we talked about the haiku competition.

It was a good experience but the instructor had a hard time speaking English so he gave me only a handful of tips. Regardless, I'm happy that I got to experience driving. I hope to pass the practical driving exam with whatever I learned from the driving school. After my driving practice, I returned to Rumoi High School to continue work.
Here’s my workload today:

There was a sale at L'airbon Rumoi Shop inside COOP. We didn't miss the opportunity to hoard our favorite bread 😅😅 |
After work, my family and I headed to COOP to buy some groceries. Overall, today was quite a tiring day despite only having one class. I realized that it was very hard to drive in winter.

It’s a very snowy day. It seems like there was a heavy snow dump last night as the snow outside was almost knee-deep already. Regardless, this is a normal thing here in Hokkaido and I still needed to report for work. For today’s trip, I will be heading to Embetsu Agricultural High School. It’s my 26th visit for the school year 2022 – 2023. For this trip, I will be using my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.![]() |

Friday – Tomamae
TGIF! What makes this Friday special is that I was invited again to join the annual ski activity of Tomamae Commercial High School. This is my 29th visit for the school year 2022-2023. For this trip, I used my 1-day Moekko Free Ticket.Tomamae Commercial High School Ski Trip
We left Tomamae Commercial High School at around 9 AM. Like last year, we headed to Haboro Townspeople Ski Resort. It was a fun ski trip. I tried to do the basic maneuvering that I watched in the skiing tutorial videos but then again it was a skill that I needed to learn more. As always, Hasegawa-sensei was very helpful. He accompanied me and taught me a lot about control and skiing.

Overall, it was a fun week for me. I got to visit and see my JTEs in Rumoi, Haboro, Embetsu, and Tomamae once again. I also got to ski for the second time in my life. I’m looking forward to what next week has to offer.
