Monday – Rumoi

It’s a cold -7-degree morning here in Rumoi City. Today. I’m back at Rumoi High School.

After classes, the Rumoi High School English Club had its weekly club meeting. Today's club activity was to talk about their winter vacation and translate a Japanese storybook into English.

After work, I still had to attend the Rumoi English Chat Club held in Asuka. It was fun seeing everyone again.
Day 450: January 25, 2023
Wednesday – Teshio (Cancelled classes) - Rumoi

It’s a super cold morning today. It’s -11 degrees here in Rumoi City, but according to weather reports, it feels like -22 degrees. The Japanese refer to this day as Daikan (大寒), or the coldest part of the year. I was supposed to visit Teshio High School today but the school was canceled because the Engan bus going to Teshio ceased operations due to bad weather.

I spent my day learning Japanese, bonding with my wife and daughter, and updating my blog. Before calling it a day, we watched the 2005 Japanese horror flick Reincarnation (輪廻). The jump scares were not scary by my standards, but the storyline was good.
Day 451: January 26, 2023
Thursday – Embetsu
It’s still a very cold -7-degree morning. However, unlike yesterday, it only feels like -14 degrees according to weather reports.

For today’s work travel, I headed to Embetsu Agricultural High School. It’s my 25th visit for the school year 2022-2023. For this trip, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

Friday - Tomamae

It’s a beautiful morning, unlike the whole day of blizzard yesterday. Today, I’m heading to Tomamae Commercial High School. It’s my 28th visit for the School Year 2022-2023. For this trip, I used my 2-day Moekko Free Ticket.

During work, my wife sent me pictures of the ultrasound. I'm super thankful to see that the baby is forming normally. It made me excited to go home.

That night, after a long chat with my wife, my daughter and I did The Witcher: Blood Origin marathon.
Overall, it’s been another cold but amazing workweek for me. I visited Embetsu Agricultural High School twice and Tomamae Commercial High School. Both are my last classes with the third year, as their classes are already done for the year starting next week.
